Humans are pure self-interest creatures, its ironclad.
Including people who give their lives for their country/faith? Did the firemen at the Twin Towers in 2001 stop and think of themselves before climbing into the burning buildings?
Because humans are pure self-interest creatures and there is only limited amount of resources in this planet, conflict is inevitable.
Given those two premises, yes. But you missed the whole other dimension: it also logically follows that fellowship/alliance is inevitable. I want a banana, he wants a banana, but neither of us want to die for a banana; so we share.
This is a world of pure competition, there is only gaining and losing. Whether it’s real physical resources or non-real things that hold any value in any given culture, to gain anything, someone else has to lose out whether it’s one person losing or many and vice versa Only somethings are that easily exhausted (ie meterial things). Fame, appreciation, love, etc. are all limitless, and can be shared indefinitely.
Think about it, even in the most unobvious places it holds true. A student with A mark only holds so much value because there are students with F marks. If there existed no students with marks below A, the colleges would only recruit those on the higher up spectrum of the students with A marks , while the lower end would be mostly left out as colleges gain more prestige and value by simply increasing the standard it takes to accept any applications. Same holds true if there were no students who ever get there marks in the A section, then top colleges would be recruiting students with the highest B marks.
It's actually the other way around. An F is an F, only insofar as it isn't an A. I've been in many classes where no one failed; but in most normal classes, someone will always get an A because of the curve. There's a reason it's called a "standard"
When you gain a job, someone else effectively loses out as they can gain the position they desired for. Jobs only hold as much value as there are others who are envious of such a position that they could never gain. That is the true reason why a job of becoming a leader of country holds more value than CEO of a corporation even though they get paid more as becoming a leader also means control over much greater resources.
Again, no. I might be the last unemployed person on earth...if I need the money, the job has value to me. Someone not getting the job has no bearing on it.
The highly industrialized nations are so rich and powerful, because the people and nations had to lose out. This is true, but only because "rich" and "powerful" are in their very nature reletive terms. You can't call a guy tall unless you have some comparative height to measure him against. But the fact that x nation has money is not in the least effected by y nation not having any (unless they are taking it from them, which is a different matter).
because the rise of East Asian nations as well as the fact of
superior of culture
Says you.
Blah blah blah
I'm a moral relativist.
Blah blah blah
Let me make an appointment to rape, torture and murder you. How does the 26th sound?
Seriously, though, this contradicts what was said above. If there is no right and wrong, there can't be any better or worse, which means acting to preserve self
is not
better than acting selflessly.
People calling anyone a monster in reality is done in fear
Yup, monsters are suposed to be scary.
A superior being can attain much fame and be called a hero only if that individual degrades him/herself to be a dog for that society. Again, if your a moral relativist, what makes him superior?
Skip a lot.
Everyone's viewpoint, no matter if the individual tries their best to reach a objective viewpoint, will always be a subjective, biased viewpoint. There's always bound to be flaws in everything, for that is what imperfection stands for.
So this whole tirade is subjective? Your view of the world can have no value outside you head by its very definition. Your view of reality has just as much chance of being wrong as everyone else's views. So who are you to impose this view on others?
I'm tired...maybe I'll comment on more later.

I agree with almost everything this guy says. He's a bit of a generalist though, as I do beleive there are SOME ppl out there who give with out an conscience or subconscience ulterior motive.
Not many though, and hard to find.

Better to be an idiot in lala land than a non-idiot in a sad, meaningless world.
