Or, people could ask the questions in a place specifically meant for them.

Welcome to our World of Warcraft Help & Support Forum!
Just started playing? Still relatively new? Have a game-related question? Just post on this board for answers! Our users and staff would love to help out players in World of Warcraft by answering any questions you may have. That is, after all, one of the main purposes of the site - think of this as your spot to get real-time help with quests, items, game mechanics or anything else!
Of course, I can't stress enough that you should first try searching the database before posting a question. Often, most questions can be answered by simply typing in an item or quest name into the search box and reading the page's comments! If you still can't find what you're looking for, don't hesitate to ask. :)

I'm addressing something that is a valid and real problem that was not solved by what you linked, because it is obviously still happening. Yes. you're right. People can jsut simply post there. BUT THEY AREN'T. My suggestion attempts to solve that.
While I understand what you are saying, I disagree with its intent. People need to take some initiative and figure things out for themselves. Spend 10 minutes to see there are forums, filters and profiles in addition to a search bar that leads to a quest that leads to comments.
On a more practical side, let's say someone has a question about an Alliance only quest in Exodar. They search themselves to the quest, read the text and the comments and are still answerless. They then pose a question near the comments like you suggest. With the thousands of quest, item, spell, talent and whatever else I am missing sections, what is the chance that anyone will come across your question and answer it? Very, very, very low.
Now, if you read the quest text, read the comments and still don't have an answer to your question, you can then post it on the forums and someone will surely answer you. Explain that you read the quest text and the comments and still don't know the answer. Where I see people getting flamed is when they put up a question on the forums like "Where it Mankrik's Wife", when all they had to do was type that in the search bar.
Also, just because there are questions in the comment sections, doesn't mean it is the appropriate place.

Being a noob is not an excuse to be stupid or lazy.
Front page there are tabs with the following names:
Database | Tools | Profiles |
Forums
| Blog | More
If you are too lazy to explore every aspect of the website before asking questions, you deserve to get flamed, downrated, etc.
The thing they could do however is to add a link on the front page saying "Are you new here? If yes click here!" then the link would bring them to a "tutorial" on how to use the website, forums and the normal etiquette on how to do it.

We've actually been discussing an idea similar to this.
If you are too lazy to explore every aspect of the website before asking questions, you deserve to get flamed...
Nobody deserves to get flamed, ever. There are certainly times when I'm not SURPRISED that someone gets flamed, but that doesn't make it okay.

As long as this "are you new here" bubble is flagged off in your account database rather than by cookie... I'm STILL getting the profiler tutorial popups and i helped beta the damn thing :P

If someone come at you IRL and start to ask stupid questions none-stop... what would you do?

Politely ask him to leave me alone, and (if such a place exists) refer him to a place where he can get those questions answered. What exactly are you saying YOU would do? O.o
