I agree with both sides. I decided to make my Hunter a Hybrid. I equally specialize in BM and MM with a smattering of Surv just to get the extra range. I like to refer to my guy as a "Speed Hunter". I went for the fast weapons, like 1.60 swords and 1.60 Bows. Then I dumped talent points into increased crit and attack power and then I go after the spellcasters in PVP. Granted, I am only 53 as I post this, but on AV, AB and WSG I have done very well, killing LVL 60 casters and even 58-59 Hunters that were obviusly BM. I say that because their pets were ripping me to shreds, but before I died I was able to drop them to single digit percentage points because as a 53 I am critting 1300+ with Aimed Shot and 600+ with Arcane Shot with fast cast times. Furthermore, I have an Attack Power around 700 and I am working on getting my Beastalker Gear to raise that even higher.
I have read many of the posts on this forum regarding what talent tree to take, which is better for PVP and PVE, etc. I do both and since I am a hybrid player, I made my Hunter able to "survive" both enviroment. It really doesn't matter what people say about what talent spec, etc to take, when that warrior charges you or you are getting double teamed by a warrior and a rogue, no talent spec will save you. Ultimately it comes down to what do YOU want to do. PVP, PVE, or both. Do you want to stand back and take the long shots as part of a group, or are you going to solo?
I think ultimately it boils down to a matter of taste. I was BM until lvl 40, and I was getting wasted in WSG and AB as a BM, that is why I switched to MM. I have found that they compliment each other very well.
But, the PVP game is losing it's luster for me because of Twinks. I am sick and tired of Twinks. I wish they would go and play somewhere else or Blizzard set up a Twink game. But then that would take away the reason for twinks. I am not really into PVP, but I want some of the PVP gear so therefore I have to do it.

I agree, it was hard, notice my post about their pet ripping me to shreds. However, I still cause way more damage than they do or their pet. And remember, I still have my own pet to sic on them too. Like I said in another post, I don't understand this 18 second deal you all keep talking about. So what if you cause 10% more damage at the cost of 20% less mana. I have attack power of 700 and as soon as I get True Shot Aura I will have another 100 added to that. I do an additional 51 DPS and when I get the Aura I think it will go up another 10DPS.
Please explain it to me because I am confused. I am not knocking BM, but as I see the talent tables it just seems to me that MM is better for supporting your party.

I LOVE my bm specc (41/20/0), BUT, if you look online the top ten arena hunters in the world pretty much have the same specc. its like 0/41/20 or something like that.
so that said, there must be something to it

I havent had a lot of 2v2 experience, but from what Ive seen they are over QUICK. on average our games last 3-5 minutes.
that said, 18 sec of beastwithin is HUGE. you cant be CC'd. and we all know you can pretty much kill a caster in 18 sec or less.
but i agree, comes down to how good a player you are and how well you know your specc. mm, bm, surv- specc doesnt mean sht if you dont know what youre doing.
