is obviously great tanking trinket and by clear means only tanking trinket (some may use it for pvp purpouses but still pvp is considered offspec in instances)
Its clear it drops from normal mode ToC.
I tried getting this on my warr tank but it didint drop in about 6 runs we had there.
In the same day i got it dropped on my DK tank, but surprisingly a Healdin needed and won it.
I said thats is an obvious ninja and i refuse to run with this party and left. After a few minutes of talking in pms with members of the group, being flamed, called child and so on and after being flamed on general as well i checked armory of said Healdin. He had dual spec. Full glyphed Retribution PvE.
Am i overreacting or was i right and it was obvious ninjaing?
I knew there is an option to trade an item within 2 hours, so i told them that unless Pala trades me the trinket i am not going for any next runs. I got flamed that i am too serious and "we got this on farm" (so far i havent got anything from it and once the tanking trinket dropped healer stole it, so I would say the group maybe has it on farm, but so far i am just wasting my time getting nothing), after a while the said paladin pmed me and wrote the trinket has 80% drop chance and it drops in every run.
If it has so big drop chance and drops in every run, why dont you want to trade it to me and wait till it drops again to need it? If it has so big drop rate you should already have it, if it has so big drop rate how come my warrior didint drop it within 6 runs? The answer was flaming and calling me a child.
I mean. Its normal. Obviously. It can be reseted. Obviously. It can be run several times before you arent able to enter. But loot rule still apply, right? I mean, i havent needed on dps trinket even though my dps trinkets are blue, just because dps needed it (pala did need on that trinket too but luckily lost it, i havent noticed that than).
Do i overreact? Or do I have a right as tank to decide whether i want to run with ninjas* or not. And if different loot rules apply it would be very nice if people told it before the run, not after the loot is distributed.
Guys who flamed me, called baby, said i am crying or whining also stated it wasnt ninjaing. One person who asked me to paste the trinket stated its an obvious ninja.
Later on i made some screen, checking the guys guild and wondering whether not to write to his guild master, but noticed one of the members of the group is his GM. I typed /who "guild name" and found out that one of the orginal members of the group is on line. I told him that the said paladin has retri offspec in armory and that they obviously know it and know it was ninjaing yet they were defending their unfair collegue like grizzlies. Guess what he said?
Check in 30 minutes. In 30 minutes he will be protection.
I mean do you guys think that the fact i am playing a DK (at that time) means i know nothing about the game? Armory shows the status which was true till the present moment. Will he respec prot, just for me to see it in 30 minutes and notice it wasnt a brutal ninja, just a ninja for offspec and feeling better about it? I mean its virtual game, its not my first time i have been ninjad but i never run with such people again, i got good memory - thats my right. The guy stated i am overreacting and acting like a child.
Whats childish about having certain set of rules and sticking to it?

Shrug it off and move on. I guarantee that the paladin has. You are being very childish.
Not quite. I wasnt Pming anyone. I just simply said i refuse running with this party because i think the paladin is a ninja and i refuse to run with ninjas. I left. His buddies kept pming me begging me to come back, after a while he pmed me to stating that trinket has 80% drop rate (obvious bullsh&t - if it has why not trade it to me and keep running for next one or why he even needed on it?), than they were looking for tank on general. I just simply stated my experiences with them. Dont run with them - their healer is ninja. That developed a dozens of pms from various people including the paladin and his buddies and tones of drama on general. All i did was simply replying to them.
So who is moving on and who isnt?
I dont care really. I got the trinket anyway.
I didint want any pats in the back. More like this post:
Overreacted. Did anyone state loot rules at the outset? The only '"real" restrictions on looting universal to everyone is the costraints of the loot system chosen and anything agreed upon before a PuG begins.
There are universal rules according to which you dont need on something you dont really going to use. My question was. Has it changed? It was so in Wailing Caverns, it was so in MGT, it was so in Violet Hold. Ever single of these runs could have been reseted and re-run. Also its kind to ask whether anyone needs the item before needing for offspec, or otherwise ensure that whoever is capable of using the item wont need it.
If there is a player who needs on everything that drops no matter whether he can use it or not, there is a name for it.
If it has changed, why has it changed for ToC? Doesnt it spoil the game? (well it does, along with new emlbem system but thats just my thought).
Masterlooting on normal instances is plain stupid. There was no way i could impose that because one of his buddies remained leader for the whole run.
After that, anything that doesn't violate those two things are open season. Yes, it's a bit weird that a Holy/Ret would roll on a +stam trinket, but everyone can use stamina, it may just not be ideal for the class. Like his group members stated, he is playing a tankable class and can respec any time he wants to (gold permitting).
For all you know he could have levelled Ret, then dualed Holy for healer invites, and may be considering Prot for the next time. If he "needed" it the trinket itself was likely an upgrade for future purposes.
He is Holy main (his Holy gear is Uld10) and Retri Pve Raid speced off (with Divine Sacrifice). He may have been wanting to respec prot due to fact most retris on my server do it because they cant use properly SoCorr or SoR and keep crying about their dps loss. It would be nice idea if I was told in the begining he is rolling for tank gear. Wouldnt mind than. Anytime i pug and someone wants to loot for his offspec he states this upfront. Dunno maybe on your server its different. At least thats what it should be.
He needed on Armor Pen dps trinket as well. No idea what for (we had an arms warrior in the team who luckily won it)
Next time, probably shouldn't be such a poopy-pants. You all let fate decide with the roll and you fell short.
Sure, but it wasnt ok because i didint roll need on dps trinket i could use (my dps trinkets are blue). Hows that fate?
If you think certain rules should be there, discuss them with PuG members in advance to avoid any drama later.
I dont feel like reserving certain drops is a good idea. They may even not drop. Also, i thought some loot rules apply to pug by default. Was i wrong?
If you don't like the rules they run with, don't run with them, simple as that; but please, figure this out before people get committed.
How exactly could i figure out the rules in this run are different than in other pugs? Because it was 3 guildies run and 2 pugged? I figured out i dont like the loot rules and i denied running with them. By no means i could have known it before. Looking at it from current perspective, after all they flaming that happened, its quite possible they could even lie to me about the loot rules and about their looting goals.
It's very frustrating for people to get half-way into an instance just to have solid running interrupted by these issues.
It was final boss. End of run. I just left the group and refused to run it again.
Upon stating the reason i was told i am being childish and overreacting.
The reason why i am writing this is that i was curious whether ToC does a revolution to loot rules on your servers as well.
PS: Not really big issue for me, i got the trinkets on both of my tanks today. This trinket is awesome.

There are generally 4 types of players which you should never invite into your pugs if you want to avoid loot-dramas such as this. Paladins with a retribution specc, dks of any specc, hunters and gnome mages with the Jenkins title (Last two is only for alliance, horde have two less types to watch out for)

Heh, this discussion used to be with Essence of Gossamer- at least there, there was a point to complaining- it was a rare drop in a heroic instance.
And as to the pally rolling on the ArP trinket? They may not get as much use out of ArP, but that is one of the best physical DPS trinkets in game, and certainly the best pre-raid. It beats out Mirror of Truth nicely, and the proc stacks with Mirror of Truth if you choose to use that combo.
Yeah, the pally shouldn't have rolled on it. Hell, I wouldn't have rolled on it and I'm a dual specced prot.
The solution to this is not to use Master Looter, the solution is to run with people you know and trust, and when there's a loot problem shrug it off and move on.
I know personally I won't run a ToC reg instance with ML on- I've gotten shafted too many times that way.

...and people who think they are better than everyone else just because they play a less played class.

needing somthing out of a 5-men(wich I wil soon, 78priest on his way) is either masterloot or guild/friendrun.
Started to use masterlooter in 5-mens in TBC when gearing up a tank for heroics was more then going to the AH with 1000g like I did in WotlK. Ofcourse won't do that with people from respected guilds(this is somthing people should be more aware of, some guilds tolerate ninjas while any respected guild simply doesn't.
Theres even a guild I avoid completly to run anything with.

Quit being such a QQer or Take your ball and go home if you dont like it... but stamp on the ground first... remember to hold your breath until you turn blue, and let Everyone know that you were cheated... Set rules first. Also - no one else in the party seemend to mind. most Ninjas steal something valuble to many members and then leave...
if you dont have your seatbelt on when you hit a tree, you really cant &*!@# about the wounds....

Grow up. Yes you may have been the most deserving in certain circumstances, but did that paladin possibly need anything else from that instance? Chances are he did not. It may be that this paladin would have tanked the instance, but chose to heal because he could get groups more easily. L2 deal with it.

You handled it wrong. Unless you are leaving out information, saying "Hey, you effing ninja, screw you all, I'm leaving" is probably not the best way to get the item traded to you. "Hey man, I could really use that for my main spec. Mind trading it to me, and you can get the next one?" Boom, you get your item and you continue farming the instance...
