So iv been taking a 3 month break from WoW, its gone really well, not many urges to come back and play. Im done with raiding and everything that has to do with raiding.
Im done with arenas, and all the bull attached to it.
Battleground im also done with, too predictable and reliant on competant team mates (how rare is that eh?)
So im coming back for 2 months, to simply world PvP. very casually.
im not talking Halaa/wintergrasp.
im talking good old fashioned Ally ganking.
ill be in a guild called No Country for Old Men and my name is going to be Llewelynmoss. if youv seen the movie you know whats going down.
ill only be playing for an hour max a day because ganking isnt something a normal person like me can do.
Iv done everything this game has to offer, proffesions, competitive PvP, old world and new world raiding to the end. leveling all classes. all that stuff is boring now.
hunting stupid ally, still gives a thrill.
i know gankers are looked down upon, but im not some freak with no life, its just the only somewhat fun thing left in this game for me.
does this make me a bad player?

I have to say I don't agree with what the others are saying here. While you should play the game how you see fit, I don't condone egocentric behaviour. Causing others frustration or harm to satisfy your own need for fun is egoistic, even if it's just a game. But since people can be completely anonymous they tend to act only according to their own needs and wishes.
So to answer the question; if you take pleasure in causing other players frustration or harm without being provoked, then yes, I do think you are a bad player.

If your able to gank somebody then that either means that they are in a PvP server or have their flag up. If this is so, then they should know that there is a huge chance that they will get ganked.
Dieing a bunch of times trying to complete a quest is frustrating. Not getting an item after 4 instance runs is frustrateing. Hell, constantly being killed in a BG that you getting steamrolled through is pretty frustrating. But if that player get frustrated by being ganked then they shouldnt have rolled on a PvP server and they shouldnt have their flag up.
Choosing to play on a PvP server does not mean you want to fight at all times, it simply means you want to play on a server which is focused on PvP. Or you share my view and want to play with a more realistic atmosphere(I would like complete FFA). While playing on a PvP server means that you accept the possibility of being ganked, it does not mean it's fair or polite.
When going into a battleground or arena the whole point and focus is on eliminating the opposition. When out in the open world there is no such competition. Take any FPS game as an example. There are mostly no rules against camping, but people who do it are mostly considered cowards and sometimes even cheaters(the last one I don't agree with). The same goes for ganking on a PvP server; it's not against the rules, but it's still not polite and it's certainly egoistic.

it doesent make it cowardly if its not polite.
its not polite to make swear word macros and spam in trade chat.
its not polite to ninja loot, or tell somebody they suck at their class in a raid.
all servers have battlegrounds/world pvp areas and arenas.
Ganking and contested area's are the sole difference between PvP and Pve servers.
Awhile ago you couldent transfer your character to a PvP server from a PvE one because leveling on a PvE is much easier.
Blizzard implemented ganking on PvP servers, and almost promotes ganking and fighting in Non-pvp specific areas because it opens up a whole new area to subscribers because it adds to the game.
Ganking is fair, its just the only activity in the game that is completly based on ruining somebody elses experience. and in my world thats fair.
its fair because THATS WHAT THEY GET FOR ROLLING AN ALLIANCE CHARACTER! :D

I don't mind if someone does what Hanakabo17 described; going after someone who has a chance of fighting back. Ganking is neither competitive or fair. Killing someone who doesn't have any chance of fighting back is what I would call cowardly. I never said that being impolite makes someone a coward though, it was merely fitting the example I gave.

My two cents...
It's your fifteen bucks a month, do what you will.
And kudos for killing alliance.
For the Horde!
