Wrong, because you do not consider the "gold x hour" factor. Some days ago I bought 100 lotus from AH at 40G and sold them back for 50G over few days.
Net profit :1000G
. Time spent to do that:
few minutes
. No profession equals the AH game, I guess.
How much time does it take farming 150 Lotus? Indeed.

However we are not talking about a real business we are talking about a computer game. So yes gold/hour is important in the real world as your business depends on this efficiency. In a COMPUTER GAME it isnt that important to many people
I agree with you on that, it's not real money of course. But
the time you need to farm stuff is real
. So if you spend 10 hours farming Frost Lotus or anything else, you lost 10 hours doing a boring, repetitive and -probably- not-so-lucrative thing (in terms of G/hour).
On the contrary, playing on AH, doing dailies or other things can neat you a good money in less time. This is why I talk about gold per hour. Not because virtual money is important... but because real time is.

I've read transmutation proc is VERY low. How's your experience so far. I've got Elixir mostly for 2hours duration and increased flask benefits. I don't craft flasks/elixirs anymore tho, mats cost more than crafted stuff.

i did a little test yesterday on the transmute proc,
i bought the mats for 20 skyflare diamonds (20 eternal air, 20 bloodstone and 20 chalcedony)
I ended up with 31 Skyflare (had 1 5X proc, and 7 2x procs,) so thats 8 procs, out of 20.. and that seems about right, so 40%.. I do get a 2x proc on my epic gem now and then never had a 5x proc on that though :D

I have been making epic gems for months with only a few 2x procs, then this week I got two 5x procs in two days.
It is random, between 10-20% chance to proc, then the proc can proc to get more.

You don't have to be Elixir master just to attain Mixology.
You get that with any Alchemy mastery.
So Elixir mastery just equals procs on making flasks. That's it.

Blue meta gems seem to proc like this lot it seems.
Epic gems is different: doing a gem a day on multiple characters for months my estimate is 5%. Some weeks I don't get no proc at all, then the occasional x2 or x3 makes up for it.
