Its his first post, which means he didn't know. Geeze, lay off the elitism.
Honestly, as far as PvP goes, both are about equal. With Alchemy, you get access to this
reusable flask , giving you a constant +80AP or whatever stat you DKs use. Plus, you have cheaper access to the
more powerful flasks, assuming you have Herb of course. Finally, the
reusable healing potion is great for saving money, but it is eclipsed in actual throughput by the
runic healing pot.
As for Inscription, you gain easier access to nice shoulder enchants, though for PvP, I think the +Stam/Resil one is more widely used. As for the actual gains above the Sons of Hodir shoulder'chants, they equal out to about the +60AP gained from that reusable flask. This is on purpose, so that 1 profession does not instantly become more widely used in the PvP or PvE world because it offers greater benefits.
Finally, as for money, it really depends on your server. Alchemy can make some awesome cash selling Transmutations and Flasks, but these (the flasks at least) can be very expensive and time consuming to produce. Inscriptions have the ability to create boatloads of glyphs, which all sell pretty well on the AH, but if you're server already has a lot of Scribes, then the undercutting can get really extreme for sought-after glyphs.
So, go for whatever you like better. I would personally choose Alchemy, because the reusable flask and health/mana potions can really save some cash. Scribes do have the ability to rename non-combat pets however...
