In 3.3, shadowform will also make haste affect how long the spells last, and the time in between ticks (it will reduce their duration and time-in between-ticks, making them do damage quicker but need to be refreshed more).
The complete explanation from patch notes, just so there's no confusion:
Shadowform: This talent also now causes Devouring Plague, Shadow Word: Pain, and Vampiric Touch to benefit from haste. Both the period length and the duration of these spells will be reduced by haste. In addition, the mana cost has been reduced from 32% to 13% of base mana.
I tested it on the PTR, and it makes it so that DoTs have shorter durations, but tick faster. IE, Devouring Plague is 24 seconds, and ticks 8 times. With Haste, you could get it to tick 8 times in say, 20 seconds.
Put simply, it makes them do more damage in shorter amounts of time.

I'm going to link something on
Sinespe's web page
that might be useful to help understand our up-and-coming changes as well. It's all based on current PTR Build, so please read with a grain of salt. I let other people do math, so I don't have to. :-)

Actually, I think this change is largely due the gripes of the Ensidia priest (I forget his name?) that made a big push in his own Blog on the Ensidia website to re-include shadow priests as a viable DPS class in higher end content because Ensidia stopped taking more than 1 SPriest to their raids because it became a liability to them for the DPS loss. In the highest level of content at THIS moment, SPriests have plateaued because of the lack of scaling and improvements versus other classes that just make them the smarter choices for those guilds pushing end-game content.
What this will translate into as time progresses is that once we open new content, Shadow priests will just fall further and further behind. This change was necessary to maintain Shadow Priests as a viable DPS class in what will soon become REGULAR content.

Yeah I figured that would come up too if the reader wanted to look for it. I know you're proud of your numbers. ;-) Excellent work though. I hope those numbers are similar in Live.

Even as Disc haste isn't a bad thing to have. It helps you drive that GCD down significantly as well. Regardless, can't wait to start refreshing more often. ;-)

I wonder just how big of a change they'll make to
Black Magic
and whether or not it would become useful to us. I doubt that it would be able to compete on the same level as spell power enchants though.

As far as Black Magic goes, I am concerned that a proc right as DoTs are going to fall off and MB is coming off cooldown will bork up casting as you'll have three source where no damage is occurring. Now granted, with the DoTs, that damage will already have occurred, but SP seems to be better here to add more consistent damage.
Edit: I like the Black Magic Dot for PvP and will be sad to see it go.
