The unique gems like, Runed Ornate Ruby, are Unique-Equipped. Does that mean I can only have 1 on the weapon itself or just 1 total on my character..... I should know this but since I have taken a break from WoW for about 6months. I do not know if they had changed that or not.

Unique equipped means you can only wear one at the time (so 1 gem for all your gemslots) currently
equipped
so you can have more in your inventory/spare gear
