What's the point of Naxx?

As, I'm sure, a lot of "late" 80's, I have missed out on a lot of old content. That's why I've started with some Outland HC's and old world raids. Currently I'm on the quest to get the key to Kara. This got me thinking.
To get into Naxx, all you need is a lvl 80. Veteran raider or freshly dinged, it makes no difference. You're 80? You can get in. Same for Ulduar. To get the key for Kara, you need to do Shadow Labs (and to get in there, you need to do Sethekk Halls first), the Steamvault, and The Arcatraz (for which you have to do Botanica and Mech to get in), then you have to do Black Morass (after Old Hillsbrad) to finally get the key. That's 8 instances! If it was this hard to get into Naxx, we'd have less posts on how scrubs are geared into Naxx 25 gear.
But that's not all. There are also a whole bunch of quests for Kara, as well as any old world and outland raid. For the NE raids, there are no quests.
So, what incentive do we have to go into Naxx, OS, or even Ulduar, other than the phat lootz? Talking from a pure RP and lore point of view (I know, not all of you see it that way), there's no real reason for us to go there. Yes, all the bad guys are there, but since when do we have to show initiative when before everyone asked us to do the dirty work (and rewarded us for it)? Even for Ulduar, with that nice little trailer that showed the Kirin Tor, the Horde and Alliance worried about Yogg-Saron, none of them ask us to see what's really going on there. All we know is Ulduar is open and we just decide to pop in and see what's up! We're not even told by a Q that Ulduar's open.
So, my question to you, I guess, is, do you like how the raids are now, or would you prefer quests for the raids, just so it seems "justified" you're in there?

I do understand the opinion of some that a long and winding attunement for anyone trying to get into Naxxramas could be very frustrating when you have to complete it with all your characters, but I never heard anyone complain when the same had to be done in vanilla or TBC.
Many were proud to have Onyxia attunement or Karazhan attunement on more than 1 character, and many of those weren't all that hardcore.
Furthermore, to obtain
Loremaster of Northrend (A)
or
Loremaster of Northrend (H)
you need to do 865 quests, of which many are part of a long and winding quest chain leading to absolute nothing except the achievement itself, and I don't hear anyone complaining about that; to be more precise, I have yet to see a post from someone saying "pls blizz, nerf loremaster achiev coz it takes too long"
If you can bring yourself to completing these achievements without complaining just to get a title and a tabard, then I can only assume it wouldn't be that hard to follow a (short and difficult or long and relative easy) quest chain to gain access to Naxxramas and/or Ulduar.
