Your gear, spec, and tactics would help us help you.

Well in order to get an answer maybe you should post your tactics. Just a quick tip I can give you is that in PVP you should be using armor with resi (anything abouve 600 should do). And remember as a mage you need to be mobile and learn to keep your distance from melee.

Wait is this a joke? Half of your gear is lvl 70 epics and the other half are greens. Need I say more?
Just curious but did you start playing by getting an account from ebay?
If the answer is yes I suggest playing from the start. Only like that will you learn the basics of the game.

First off, you need to replace the greens. Start running some 80s heroic dungeons. Save up the badges, and buy yourself some Gladiator's gear. It's really way better than those level 70 items you're using, even if they are purple. Don't fall into the epic trap and refuse to replace an item simply because it's epic!
Next, resilience. If you're serious about PVPing, you'll want to stack a lot of resilience (600+ is good). Go run heroics, again, as mentioned above, but use the Stone Keeper's Shards to purchase some excellent resilience PvP trinkets and gear. Don't forget to do the Wintergrasp quests! They're another good source of supplemental shards.
For enchants, you should grind Kirin Tor rep, since they give the best head enchant for mages, 30 SP and 20 crit. You can buy some good SP + Resil shoulder enchants from the Shard vendor, don't bother with other stuff until you're sure you've got gear worth using it on.
As for your spec, if you don't mind sacrificing some damage at the cost of survivability, roll Frost. Dual-spec it, possibly. But ice barrier, Cold Snap, and Iceblock give you a ton more survivability in PvP. The 20/0/51 build is pretty standard. Oh, and don't forget the only real stun available to mages, Deep Freeze!
Finally, remember that mages are the "glass cannons" of WoW. We can provide huge amounts of up-front damage, enough to drop just about any opponent, as long as we're not getting hit! But the truth is that even with the best gear, mages will forever be very squishy. Things like ice barrier and blink help us mitigate/avoid a bit of that damage, but no mage can go toe-to-toe with a melee class and come out on top. Consider finding a nice partner who's willing to serve as a meatshield with you. He'll charge in and get the attention of the opponents, while you hang back and rip them apart quickly. But you'll always be squishy! The only thing you can do is learn how to get around it in escapes, aggro management, cooldowns, and good spellcasting rotations.
So, hope this helps. And one last thing - when posting on forums, people are a lot nicer to you if you provide lots of information and spell things right!

Alistair pretty much hit it right on the head.. very well said.
And, as was said, there's a quite large and expanding "Mage PvP Guide" that's stickied at the top of the mage forums (4th from the top)... That will answer a LOT of questions as far as little tricks to have when fighting certain classes, certain builds you could use, enchants, as well as a point by point analysis of each and every talent and it's usefulness in pvp. I hope it helps out a lot.
