Something like this happened to my guild recently.
Demote their alts to non-bank-withdrawal rights, and leave the door open. Heck, you guys might even get invited to raids for their new guild.

Friend guilds should be for alts as those types of guilds rarely progress through end game content. I don't blame them for leaving I did the same thing in a friend guild along with a few others. They probably should have mentioned they were leaving but I wouldn't demote real life friends alts.

having guildies leave for a "raid guild" and then keeping their alts in your guild so that they can still paly with you is usualy asking from trouble.
Agree but these guys a friends in real life, I don't think that would start trouble and if it does maybe they shouldn't play WoW if it would have a negative effect on real life friendships.
