I'm a proofreader. Game on!
What if the "system" includes both the healer and the healed? Then heals are the output of one part of the system, but the input to another part of the system. Problem solved, integrity restored.
Especially in computing, "throughput" is used to describe the amount of data moved from one part of the system to another. Admittedly, the computing industry did all sorts of creative leaps with the English language. But nonetheless, in this case a heal certainly qualifies as something that moves through a system. And spellpower increases the amount of data (i.e., the amount of healing "stuff") that gets transferred from one part of the system to another.

This is just a matter of semantics. Do any of us really care if our engrish is slightly off?

I suppose the 'healing "stuff"', as you tried to quantify it, would be the base heal value of the spell?
Not really. Think of it like water moving through a pipe. The amount of healing "stuff" would equal the amount of water that you can move. To get more water from here to there, you need either a bigger pipe and/or more water pressure. I think my analogy is cracking at the seams, but anyway...more spellpower would equate to more water pressure; a bigger pipe would probably be, what, a higher rank of a spell? I think I just dug myself into a hole there. Hope it makes some kind of sense anyway!
This is just a matter of semantics. Do any of us really care if our engrish is slightly off? We're striving to be hit-capped here. Don't want to miss when we communicate, do we? :)

People also need to stop calling Divine Shield 'bubble' because it is not the correct word. Anyone who uses the term bubble from now on to describe Divine Shield should watch out, or Val will toast your ass for daring to use it.

LOL! healing requires no hit rating. ;-) because it's done to friendly targets.

LMAO I think he meant that because of the debate, not actually hit rating for heals.
They need hit rating so there communications landed.

I was hoping that someone would catch on that we're having a "Friendly" debate, therefore "hit rating" and "misses" should be irrelevant. I think you need some hit rating friend. ;-) 'cause you totally missed what I was saying.

I wouldn't know. You're the expert on that.
i giggled at this and how amazingly immature the response was. but yes your trolling. Throughput is the word used for it, why post something when were in patch 3.1? Posting this in the random forum would probably better. or general, as it doesn't apply only to priests.
but that's my trolling, right?
