Vanilla WoW is the core world. Azeroth, no lv 61+ , etc.
Also used to describe the period of time before Burning Crusade.

In games with multiple patches and expansions that build the world up the term 'vanilla' refers to the orginial/plain version of the game.
For most players that consists of all content that belonged to WoW up to the release of The Burning Crusade.
Why it makes you angry I have no clue. Might want to see a shrink...might have some icecream issues from childhood.

But 'Vanilla' is a basic flavor without any extra stuff in it. Hence, Classic WoW with no expansion = Vanilla. BC should logically have been called 'the sprinkles expansion', but I don't come up with the names...

Sir, you need to seek professional help on anger management.
Vanilla wow is refer to the original wow released mid 2005, without any of the expansion. Where level cap was 60, molten core, blackwing lair, zul'gurub, AQ20/AQ40 and naxx40 was your only raid instances.
The Burning Crusade was released at the beginning of 2007, level cap increased to 70, extra map was the Outland.
You forgot Stratholme, Scholomance and Blackrock Spire :)

Just for Clarification here -
Vanilla refers to something in its plain or "Not Different" state.
It is a term used in a lot of areas - one to note would be BDSM.
Vanilla is plain old ...
Pasticcio is Alternative (to comment on the sprinkles comment)
So - Vanilla WoW = Plain old WoW
New WoW = Pasticcio WoW.

hmm you are correct, kinda sucked to be honest bcs some people insisted on doing it raid then you could do it 5 mans.
Wasn't BRD also a raid in the beginning, heard people saying they went there in raid grps with 10?
Also just to clarify Black rock spire, is commonly divided into two instances parts within same portals. The lower part call LBRS was access able by anyone. It was possible to 5 man quite easy bcs the bosses was alot easier and the mobs. The upper part of the instance was called UBRS. You needed to done a q chain starting in lbrs who ended up with you having a ring who worked as a key. The key opened the door to the UBRS, who was just up the stairs from portal. That part was alot tougher so you generally had a 10 man group to do it otherwise you would most likely die if you had not a very skilled and geared party.
I think it is kinda funny that you will find portals to MC and BWL in BRD and UBRS. Really added some touch to the game to be honest. There is also a portal to naxx or some other cancelled instance who you cannot access in the baron side(not totally sure that the portal was meant for).
