I would use your t7 to honor grind BGs with and get hateful armor and deadly accessories. As for the arena spec, many of us use the
0/17/54 build. Some opt to not take AMZ, a lot depends on your comp though, so a few talents can be moved around to fit your team.

Great,
Excellent advice.
Question, is there any merit in a hybrid spec such as:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#jZhLxxA0hzcuV0sZfb0hxfbh0oWhere Frost Strike is preferred do to the "no dodge/parry/block" and chilblains is used to keep people from being able to maneuver and retain the perma-ghoul?
Or is calling down the gargoyle just that awesome in PvP?
Actually, looking up Skeleton Jack's thread...
http://www.skeletonjack.com/2009/04/14/death-knight-specs-for-31-release/They pretty much dub the spec I'm considering "Frost Ghoul" and it appears to be a pretty common spec. Except they didn't bother taking the haste buff where I took that and Blood-Caked Strike for the rare, but big burst damage.
Not sure if that's the best thing to do, but I'll both a try while I farm BG's for honor and Hateful gear as Tarkon suggested.

First off, dont take Anticipation, it's a tanking talent :)
Secondly, if you're going to pvp seriously, Lichborne is a must have to break those nasty CC effects.
A frost-ghoul spec works, but the whole ghoul + frost concept is mainly arena orientated as you're sacrificing large chunks of damage in frost in order to get your little friend only to keep the opposing team from drinking/an extra stun.
However even as a Frost/ghoul spec you ought to make some changes.
Improved icy touch and Icy talons: due to a lower time on target in pvp, this talent's value decreases greatly and it's fairly point heavy, these points are much better spent elsewhere.
Icy reach: Increased range, for pvp (since we tend to get kited easily) it's invaluable.
Frigid Dreadplate: It's mainly a tanking talent, very minor increase for pvp, skip it.
Merciless combat, Glacier Rot, Endless Winter, Deathchill: These are all very attractive talents which should have an increased priority when you decide where to spend your points.
If you insist on having a frost/ghoul spec I'd reccomend something down the lines of:
This(CE for Ghoul boom burst)
However, since the drawback are fairly large you may want to consider a standard frost/unholy build (giving you on a pale horse):
0/54/17(the points in IFP can be spent elsewhere)

Good points Aleanos. I follow what you're saying.
My original thoughts where that some avoidance would be useful but it appears it's just more important to pump out DPS while having utility to avoid getting CCed and then letting your +STM keep you alive.
Out of curiosity, Has anyone tried a hybrid spec that doesn't go deep into a specific tree? Something like this...
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#jfVzqc0cZhgozAMcoszZfMGc0b:NapWhere Obliterate is your main attack, Death Coil is you rune dump, and you simply burn one blood rune to keep diseases up since you don't have a death rune?
I think I'll probably start with trying an standard Unholy spec. That looks a little better to start with.
Cheers
