Healing question

So i am dual specced balance/resto. i prefer healing in instances but occasionally i find myself being dps. One group i was in had a druid healer and i was watching him and comparing his usage of spells to mine. I found that he seemed to lifebloom a lot. When i heal i tend to keep up hots and use nourish and lifebloom ill use occasionally. so my question is this, is there just many ways to effectively heal as a druid or should lifebloom return to my normal rotation? The main reason i ask is i am wondering lifeblooms usefulness in raid healing which i will be starting as soon as i am able.

I find that if you have enough mp5, Lifebloom if effective, if not, than you can go OOM pretty easily. More often than not all I need on a tank is just Rejuv, WG, Regrowth and I'm set. If he starts to take to much of a beating I'll pop down a couple Nourishs and if even more beatings, Lifebloom x3. You can also use Lifebloom x3 and just refresh it to get the nice HoT out of it or let it bloom, the downside obviously being that you don't get that 50% mana returned back to you.
It's really your choice on how you want to go about healing. You can maximise on HoTs or use the powerful casted spells, e.g Healing Touch, Regrowth, Nourish. Personally, I try to keep Lifebloom out of my rotation since the 3.1 patch.

lolbloom is more efficient now in 3.1 than it was 3.0. The base cost is about 900, and it returns half of that, or about 450, what it used to cost. Then you add in tree form and T7 2set bonus, which reduces the cost of lolbloom by 25%. So your lolbloom costs about 675. It costs about 225 total after the bloom, when it used to cost 450.... the healing mechanics for it have changed, instead of letting it roll you are supposed to let it bloom and reroll it.
And yes Bear, OoC still works for it at 80, so that's about 450 free mana.
It's also a good mana sink for when you are PvPing against priests.... stupid mana burns....
It also increases your Nourish, it is a HoT. At least, if you have 4 T7 and/or the Nourish glyph. Which most healer druids should have....
My lolbloom, when fully stacked, heals as much as my Rejuv does. By the time my lolbloom is fully stacked, it has healed twice as much as Rejuv would have in it's place. That is, unless you have 4 T8 pieces. Which is unlikely. Idol of Lush Moss ftw.
lolbloom is meant more for tank healing, and it's still the perfect HoT for it imo. Especially on fights like Patchwerk. Not as good for raid healing though.

to be honest you can swap things around fairly easy
i like to hot up and see how much damage a tank takes to use the blooming of LB as filler
on spike fights i still keep a 3 stack up, eventhough it's less efficient...
one glitch i found out about the mana return with lifebloom was with a ulduar trinket i won recently. the one that recudes the mana cost of your spells by 42
while the spell costs less, the amount of mana returned stayed the same... now isn't that just great? :D

- I also use lifebloom on berserk situations, but I let it pop at 3 stacks, no need to waste my mana. I will quickly spam it to get to 3 stacks so it can pull out a lot of Hps, plus increasing my Nourish heal (glyph & T7 2P)
Actually, it's T7 4P:
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40460
T7 2P is also nice for lolbloom.
And since the lifebloom nerf in 3.1, I now use the rejuv idol for better mana efficiency. I now tend to roll rejuv all over the raid since it is now so cheap to do so.
Anyway, point is to not worry about how other druids are healing. Do you have trouble keeping your groups up? If so, then maybe you should try a different system. If you are not having troubles, dont trouble yourself. Keeping people alive is the only thing that matters.
lolbloom is actually more efficient now. See my above post.
But, yes, in the end, keeping people alive is what matters in the end. If you got something that works for you, stick to it.
