And though, i dont wanna be to hasty to
blame sylvanas for falling for an age old trick that has worked on countless civilizations
, she was
fully aware of the fact that the dreadlord was a master
of that kind of thing, and i have
NO clue why she put him in charge of intel
. Its considerably
harder to be manipulated when you know that your in danger of getting manipulated
.
I am sorry, but you are pretty much blaming her.
She thought she could trust Varithramas. "Why? LOLOL what a noob!" I hear you cry!
Well, Varithramas betrayed other Nathrezim when he `switched sides', as far as Sylvanas was concerned, Balnazzar was dead. To 'kill' another Dreadlord is a huge dishonour, so Sylvanas seen this as perhaps not loyalty, but as testimony to his own will for survival.
He was incharge of intelligence because he was a supposedly controlled Nathrezim, but he co-ordinated with the Legion presumably (Battle for Undercity).
I suggest you look up Varithramas and Nathrezim in wowwiki, it contains relevant information.
Back on topic of the Horde !@#$ing up with Wrathgate/Broken Front, the Alliance have not been all perfect themselves. The High Elven faction the Silver Covenant is so racist towards their former blood elven brethren that they want the Horde to not be involved with the Kirin Tor, despite being at war on not one, not two, but now
THREE
fronts (Scourge, Blue Dragonflight, Yogg-Saron). They have been so narrow minded that they don't care if the world is at risk they will not tolerate the Horde, despite Azeroth's living forces standing on metaphorical egg-shells.
The Alliance need to wake up a little and see that in the current climate war with the Horde is really not a sensible option...

High Elves hate Blood Elves because they went against the old traditions of the Quel'dorei, also the magic wielded by blood elves is highly corrupt(I would say almost as corrupt as fel) and that also goes against all that the Kirin Tor stands for.
In my opinion they are right.
They may be right in principle, however the Kirin Tor are at war on numerous fronts and rather than accepting potential allies are trying to push them out.
Atleast the Night Elves and Humans could push away their prejudice to the Orcs, who proved to be invaluable in the defence of Hyjal.
Whether the High Elves agree or disagree with the use of magic is at this time not as pressing as fighting many enemies that threaten everyone.

To mages, when one use corrupt magic he is as good as dead because he may betray you any time.
The high elves and most of the kirin tor probably look at the blood elves and see nothing more than the same bloody warlocks and necrolites from the past wars with the Horde.
Key point:
Arcane is corrupting
.
What do mages use, oh yeh, arcane! I have always classed Fel as a stigmatised type of arcane energy.

All Arcane is corrupt.
It is hypocritical for any Kirin Tor, especially High Elves, to hate blood elves for resorting to Fel magic.
Whichever way you paint it the High Elves were some loyalists to Aszhara, and to a certain extent, the Burning Legion. I noticed in TBC that Blood Elves fought against the burning legion, where were the Silver Covenant? Trying to get on their high-horse.
All arcane is bad, but isn't fel a result of arcane? Therefore Arcane is probably worse becuase it 'created' fel.

Hey, while Fel magic is certainly evil, it can be used without succumbing to corruption.
See:
http://www.wowwiki.com/Uncorrupted_Warlock
Although it's a known fact that Necromantic magic automatically makes you cooler than Fel Magic.

Oh yeah... That's how it went.
Thrall + Blackmoore: *enslave*
Orgrim + Knight: *lance'd*
Thrall + Blackmoore: *"sister's" head*
Thrall + Humans: "Kill those orcs!"
Grom + Night Elves: *ambushed*
Thrall + Daelin: *attacked against all odds*
Thrall's had it just as hard, and yet he still cooperates and wants peace.
