I would never put the JC-only gems into the prismatic slots that Blacksmiths get. They're meant for colored slots that don't favor your class (Yellow in your case) where you want the socket bonus, but don't want to compromise with a hybrid gem.
My shaman is my blacksmith, so I got equally boned in LK since you could make mail up until LK came out.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my story and maybe show others that it's OK to try non-traditional professions. (Any rogues out there with tailoring for the
cloak enchant
?
My Rogue
. i leveled him to 50 before TBC started, and maxed out his professions. had to level him again due to the fact that an up to date enchanter/tailor was just so cost-efficient and had great gold making potential. another perk to being a tailor is the
sleek rug
XD.
i know it's probably not the best pve or pvp enchant for cloaks, and i can't make use of
any
other embroideries or BoP threading, but he's currently my twink/professionbot, so i dont care :)

Quick question, can you throw 3 JC gems in each set of gear?
I'm a dual specced resto / feral druid and really just don't know if I can put then in each set.

You can put one in every piece of gear you have, but you can only wear 3 at once.
Awesome, thanks for the clarification.
