Ok anyone know what i should gem for on my priest, its disc atm and ive heard a few things from different people in my guild but i was just wondering what i should gem, intel, spirit, spelll power, etc.. any help or advise would be helpful and thank you in advance
More information, like gear, mana problems and raid types would help. In general you want a spellpower and if you got mana problems int. Currently I use runed for red, potent for yellow and purified for blue. I'm going for max spellpower and the one blue required for meta. (And most of the times sockets bonuses are worth it. =/)
Here
is a nice list of gems you can use. Ignore the haste ones for Disc.

Are you saying that you purely socket Potent Monarchs? Then you are losing 3-5 spellpower!
Runed is 19 spellpower, every two stat spellpower only offer 9 spellpower. So for two potents you got 18 spellpower instead 19!
But to be serious isn't spellpower better then crit rating point for point?
In any case you always end up using two stat gems because socket bonuses 9 out of 10 times are worth the bonus, unlike most other specs/classes.

While I may re-gem to maximize my spellpower and critical, this gem is much cheaper on AH than the red and yellow counterparts, just cause most people overvalue the other two.
My other reason is that, as Discipline, critical is all too necessary. Divine Aegis makes up for the lack of healing throughput we have and that spellpower just doesn't give.
Remember that save PW:S, Discipline gets much less out of spellpower than Holy.
While spellpower is great, I get too many perks from critical heals to not value it. Considering I've been able to heal just about anything, I'm gonna go ahead and say that loosing 2 or 4 spellpower really isn't going to make a difference.
Remember, it's the player that makes the healer. Gear helps, but I've seen some pitiful healers with much better gear than me.
While raid buffed I get over 36% crit, minimum of 28% in 5mans.

It all depends on gear level what stats you should look for next. First get SP to a certain level, then crit, then haste etc.
For example: Currently in Ulduar I have fully buffed 2900 SP, 41% crit (2 arcane mages ftw) and 19% haste. So what I need now is to increase my haste as much as possible since I only have about 6% from gear. The plan is to keep my crit around 40% and SP around 2800 while getting my haste from gear to about 10-12%. All of this while maintaining about 500 in combat mp5 (not including replenishment of course).
For end of Naxx 25 you should be at about 2600 SP, 35% crit and 400mp5 with as much haste as you can get.

You are Disc? Because a Disc priest in 25 man raids as a soft cap haste at 8% (then flash heals with Borrowed Time are 1.0 seconds.) and a "medium cap" at 13-15%. At the medium cap it is impossible to add more spells during a penance cooldown until you reach the hard cap at 35%, when the GCD is PWS is lowered to 1.0 seconds and Borrowed Time loses a large part of it's value.
Edit: I misread a bit.
My values are
gear only
, yours are included raid buffs it seems... ><

Hmm... Thanks for that info actually. I didnt know about the medium cap. (I know my haste is low as it stands). Can you point me in the direction of some numbers about that please? Soft caps, medium caps, hard caps... very confusing >.<

Perfect Scenario: Haste For Disc Priest
The theory is based around cooldown filling and a very strict tank healing rotation (it's called perfect scenario for a reason). In practice it can be a lot difference per boss but even then more then 15% haste from gear wouldn't add that much. Disc is already quite fast in spells so the effect of haste is smaller. If you are casting PoH's/GH the effect of haste is greater.

Thanks! Will be reading through that. I currently mainly tank heal with a pally and just use PW:S, Penance and Flash Heal. On a fight like Ignis I will use Power Infusion near the end and throw out greater heals for some extra healing burst.
