Death Strike Bug?

I've noticed lately on my 73 unholy DK that death strike is healing for much less if it's the killing blow. Yes I make sure that I have all diseases up. It normally heals for around 1500, but when it's the killing blow it only heals for 550 or so.
I guess there's some bug with the calculation of # of diseases on the target when death strike is the killing blow?

Perhaps it doesn't account for overkill damage? That would be the most logical answer.

But Death Strike now heals based on your maximum health, not based on the damage you do.

Does it heal anything at all? If it doesnt heal, it would be "normal" (from a computing pov) because DS does damage, target die (so the diseases are removed) so there is no disease to heal...

It heals for 575 or so. When its not the killng blow it heals for around 1500, since I have 3 diseases up.

My guess would be that maybe the server checks diseases in two ways, first: Is it diseased? Yes or no. To figure out if any healing will happen or not. Then it checks how many diseases, 1, 2, or 3? To calculate how much healing. But since it's the killing blow, there are no diseases to count. But! The server already said that there are diseases on the target. So, to prevent the universe from imploding it has a default value of 1. With 3 diseases it heals for 1500, with 1 it heals for 500. But, I have no idea how things are really coded, so that's just my best guess.

What do you need to see in screenshots?
I currently have 11688 hp. With one disease up death strike heals for 584. With 2 diseases up it heals for 1169 hp. With 3 it heals for 1754. All proper values. If it's the killing blow it heals for 584 even if there are 2 or 3 diseases up. Nyito's scenario is probably right.
It seems to me they should have it calculating the heal amount as soon as death strike is cast, before the mob takes damage; the same as other strikes do to determine how much damage they deal.
