Why is it so hard to keep aggro i mean im doing everything to keep aggro but i always get over aggro and then it just ends up in a messy pull and it makes it worse that thunderclap has a big cooldown. so i was just wondering what does everyone else do when theres like 4 mobs what do you do? i dont want any stupid answers
because what i do is 1st charge in thunderclap demorlising shout cleave and shockwave but theres always one that just has a bit of aggro.

On trash mobs I alternate targets with devastate and sheild slam . However on boss fights with adds , stay on the boss unless absolutly neccisary to pull aggro off of your healers , spam thunder clap , and use challenging shout only when you start to loose control . I use glyph of devastate and glyph of saunder armor , witch applies a additional saunder armor & affects your main focus's next closest target in turn creating more threat
I additionaly try to position my self / move boss's around so that I can see better behind me so i can easily target / taunt / then back to boss for the nasty adds that dont want to come off your supporting healers . If this means that i have turn the boss a complete 360 so i can see every one else in case of emergency i do it ,, there's been plenty of times where i've been
(Group / Boss \ Tank ) instead of ( Group / Tank / Boss ) just so i can keep a eye on the situation .
Those are a few of my tips , take um or leave um , just somthing for you to try .

i find the devastate glyph handy, because i use it as a filler between shield slams and tclaps. keep in mind that once you have an aggro lead, you can tab to the next (no need to stay on it until it dies... you don't kill mobs, you just tank then. ideally, you'd see 'changing targets' just as the mob dies).
OP - are you losing aggro to the healer, or to the dps?
if dps - then use shield slam first then tclap. i wouldn't waste an early GCD on demo shout. also, i agree with "let the dps die" philosphy. good dps can perform within a threat cap / anyone with no skill can unload with every spell they've got. i also see dps often don't wait until mob is within your melee to start dps-ing... don't let them do that. explain to them how long your sword is and that that is your range limit.
if healers - get the devastate glyph and make sure all mobs are in range before you tclap. you may want to cc 1 mob.

If you're having troubles holding aggro on 4 targets try marking them. Also use Cleave + Glyph of Cleave. Skull, Star, Circle, Diamond in that order or whatever you do.
Charge Skull, make sure all of the other mobs are in range, and then Thunder Clap. Position the adds so they're all clumped up, Then use Shockwave. Shield Bash Skull, Revenge, and Spam Cleave (Assuming you're above 50 rage). You should have a healthy lead on Skull, from there you can tab to Star and build some rage on him. After you apply some hits to Star, go back to skull and make sure you still have a healthy lead. Rinse and Repeat. From then on there, Shield/Slam are Prioritized, Clap/Shockwave whenever they're up.
Vigilance on the top DPS also really helps. But it gets a lot more complicated than this. If you have casters or ranged that don't move, you should heroic throw them to silence etc, or charge + Shield Bash. If there's a ranged, Charge that first etc, anything to get them clumped up for that initial TClap + Shockwave.

thanks for all the replys they have been very very usfull i tanked naxx yesterday so its getting better still somtimes dps over aggro but its there fault for aoeing as soon as i charge in:P
and tbh i think thunderclap should be more like consercration, like for example when you use it it stays around for longer so warrs can be better at taking adds cause paladins pwn warrs at tanking adds lol
