Pally Tanking stats easy to understand...

To make it simple you should aim for 102.4% to be unhittable.
That said you can simply use this macro in game to see how close you are.
/run ChatFrame1:AddMessage(format("Unhittable at 102.4%% - you have %.2f%%", GetDodgeChance() + GetBlockChance() + GetParryChance() + 5 + 1/(0.0625 + 0.956/(GetCombatRating(CR_DEFENSE_SKILL)/4.91850*0.04))))
This macro shows the stats AFTER diminishing returns.
Simple math would be:
5 (base misschance from mobs/bosses) + chance to be missed from defense (mouse over your defense and see what it tells you) + chance to dodge + chance to parry + chance to block (with holy shield up).
That will show you the stats BEFORE diminishing returns.
Get uncrittable via defense first (540 defense skill at 80)
Optimal balance of defense:dodge is somewhere between 3:2 and 2:1 ratio
Don't bother with parry rating (unless the item itself is better than what you have already)
Do not gem for parry. Ever.
The hit cap is 8%. Every tank want to hit.. don't they?
Dodge Rating
39.35 dodge rating = +1% chance to dodge.
Dodge rating is affected by diminishing returns in WotLK: the more dodge you have, the more dodge rating is required to add each additional percent chance to dodge. This is a rather complicated system, but effectively it means that dodge rating is probably inferior to defense rating as a means for adding pure avoidance.
Dodging opens an opportunity for Overpower mechanics to hit you for a large amount of damage. This is primarily a concern in PvP (against warriors) but there are a very few raid bosses and mobs that have an Overpower-type mechanic. This is not generally worth worrying about, but it may come to bear on specific encounters.
Parry Rating
49.18 parry rating = +1% chance to parry.
Like dodge rating, parry rating is subject to diminishing returns, but it's already inferior to defense and dodge for adding avoidance.
When an attack is parried, your next attack will happen more quickly. (This is why parry is more "expensive" than dodge.) I won't go into the exact mechanics here, except to note that (a) this effect is more pronounced with slower melee weapons, and (b) weapon-based threat is generally not significant enough for this to make much of a difference, and hence it's not worth considering when gearing for tanking.
Block Rating
16.29 block rating = +1% chance to block.
This does not suffer from diminishing returns.
Block is far "cheaper" than dodge or parry or even defense per point of avoidance; however, blocking only absorbs an amount of damage equal to your block value whereas m/p/d avoid all damage. (It does, however, provide threat when Holy Shield is active.)
All thanks to their respective contributors.

Your macro is
inaccurate
and does not show true avoidance after DR. You should probably stop the copy/paste and actualy understand what youre saying first.
If you want to see one that does click my sig link.
Also, Str > Hit.

Some are from me some are from the 10 pages long reading of maintank.com tankadins and other sites.
The macro is from tankadin.
I saw many threads on questions about it so I guess it would be nice if I could just post some relevant informations.
Judging by the random flames ... on someone that just wanted to help a bit and contribute ... tells a lot about the community here which is close to thottbot.
I hope some liked it though, it was full of good intentions >.>
I am in no way taking the credits for it btw.

Oh don't mind quest all that much, i think the flames are basically because this info is readily availible on other sites, its not a bad thing to try and help but these forums regularly see posts like this. Its awesome to have a positive attitude and be helpful with posts, don't be put off by te few who are fast to flame. (P.S. a nice read to go over tanking stats :))

The macro is still wrong
Do people on wowhead now defend plagiarism? Here is a clue; simply saying "thx to my sources" and doing a copy-paste job is %^&*ty and disrespectful to the people that actually put time and effort into their information gathering, so excuse me while I flame away.

Except for once the people at mmochamp were actually not defending the guy. This disappoints me, wowhead.

As for "Firestorm247", I think it's cute that you're defending plagiarism, but really it's no biggy. I think the people from other sites do mind when their ideas are stolen word for word, they released the
ideas
to the general web community. It'd just be nice if someone took the time to put that information in their own words. I for one can use a search engine when I really need information, so no, it isn't helpful.
Remember, if you don't have anything ethical to say, don't say anything at all.
He would've accomplished just as much by making his OP a link to the maintankadin thread and a link to the EJ thread (on the right page). However, taking the time to embed the links, or bother with a would've taken much too long and been far too much work.
I think it's cute that you get the wrong idea. I mentioned that this wasn't from me and got it from others sites just wanted to bring them up together. So your post is useless.
First: There is NO copyrights about these informations so keep your "stealing" out of this thread.
Second: I clearly mentioned that the informations where not mine and only wanted to ring them up together.
Third: The main purpose of the post was to clearly list things and not link them on the website which brings up a 10 page thread on the subject...
Flame elsewhere Please =)
...
Oh and Quest. Your guide is fun. No need to flame me also. I love you man.

Which conclude the said "plagiarism" issue.
For any other "accuracy" issues, contact them as they had this information on their site. Blame me for trusting them, but the main idea was clear enough for me.
Anything else I can do to make you happy, sir?
