Why do Alliance suck so bad?

First off, apologies to those of you who will have seen these sort of topics before, there probably has been some. But I'm still relatively new, so wanted some opinions, and maybe a little rant. Forgive me.
But I can't help but wonder if anyone has ever identified some sort of root cause as to Alliance generally sucking in BG's?
Take today. I've done about twelve WSG rounds. Alliance won two. And we won those, because we had a 10 - 6 advantage. The moment it goes up to even 10 - 8, a loss is pretty sure, at 10 - 10, it's a guarantee.
Now, I'm a Human Prot Warrior, level 69, with Questing greens, and some mid level enchants on most of my stuff - none of the "uber" things, because I'm not prepared to sink that money away at this level. And yet, being a "Tank", someone who traditionally isn't much for damage, I'm outstripping everyone on my side by a considerable amount. The last WSG it was 110,000 damage done by me, next nearest ally was 54,000. I've seen me in AB sitting at 330,000 while the nearest ally is down at 200,000. Just what are people arming themselves with? Feathers? Pillows? A large fish?
I've commented on this a couple of times in BG's and there is always some pecker saying "Whoopdeedoo, you did a lot of damage, so what?", but is it just me who understand the simple math that damage done = dead or fleeing enemies = better chance of winning? There is probably NOTHING that breaks an enemy player, and gets them panicking, than suddenly having low health. You have to either run or die pretty much, and that works in our favour.
So what are they all doing wrong?
Why are they even in BG's if they aren't prepared to A) Get stuck in, and B) At least TRY to win?
And their tactics, just, it's like omgwtf!
"Horde has our flag, everyone stand up at the Graveyard till they cap it, because then it comes back to us anyway! Win :D!"
"I'm a Priest/ Shaman/ Druid, but I'll mount up, charge the gang of five Belf Pala Twinks and melee them all to death! Screw healing anyone!"
"Holy smeg, I'm fighting this DK, and there is an enemy Priest healing all the damage I do to him! I'll just keep hitting him then and hope the Priest runs out of mana this year!"
Sometimes I sigh, sometimes I shout and slam my fists on my desk. Yes, it makes me angry, yes, that's pretty sad, but just why! I'll often say at the start of a BG, right guys, do your jobs, find the class you counter, gank em, take down their healers, stay in a group, etc etc...then watch as everyone runs off in ones and twos, and that yellow text fills the chat log... "x has died, y has died, z has died...hell, everyone died".
Alliance, guys, PLEASE, give yourselves a shake, you're breaking my heart :(

Okay, to clarify a little...
There is an obvious and consistent level of skill and co-ordination on most, if not all Horde BG groups.
There is an obvious and consistent LACK of skill and co-ordination on most Alliance BG groups.
Why?

At lvl 70, non-AV was pretty brutal on Nightfall from what I saw, but it was especially bad in EotS. I hated EotS for that reason, no matter what it seemed like Horde always had 3 of the towers and flags being capped, and Alliance was just screaming at each other "WTF OMG NUB L2PLAY GAWD1!"
However what little BG's i've done at 80 have been surprisingly well. I've only lost a handful on Alliance-side since i've been 80, and they were still pretty close... idk if this means the alliance are learning to play or the Horde are forgetting, but good battles are good battles, win or lose. Non-wipe = awesome.
Or it's just the times. On my battlegroup it seems like there's a block of time where the Alliance is doing terrible, then all the good Alliance players get on and they win for a while, then the good Horde players will get online, etc.

I play alliance and Horde on Stormstrike. Its seems in AV that Horde always roflpwns the Alliance because most playes just zerg relief hut. A lot of its a leadership problem. And a lot of players just have no idea how AV works. Most of these people are Hunters it seems. ( no offense to Hunters, I have one)
Personally I have seen Alliance kick ass and I have seem it get it's ass kicked. It depends on what time the horrible players all get on and BG
