Here's one for you arachnophobes.
During your lifetime, you swallow
80
spiders in your sleep.
Yes, 80.

Yes, 80.
And 2.5 kittens. Yep... two and a half.

Vikey, do you own Gorillas? Tigers? Wolves?
You CAN'T base your information on your dog/cat.
Just because it purrs at/licks you because you feed it doesnt always mean it's over the moon with happiness.
You feed it, food is needed to live.
Until there is undeniable evidence that animals have emotions, they don't have em

The University of Newcastle in Austrailia
is hosting a lecture series that would contradict you Haxzor. What do they know though... biologists.... pfft.
Edit: Another one!
Seattle Times Article
that uses Doctor's research...
Edit Edit:

In addition to my above refute, I would also like to point out that "undeniable evidence" is not neccesary in order for something to be true. That is the nature of science. Some things are true that we have no evidence of.

There's also no "undeniable" evidence that they don't have emotions.
And since there is evidence that they do. I'll stick to that.

Fear is not an emotion in the sense that it is an instinct, an alarm stage due to your body being in danger and I do not care what wikipedia says, it is not a correct source, and Vikey, when you go to college and you use it as a source, they will fail you.
MyTie, I like how you atleast read the articles.
BUT they are not from Peer Reviewed Scientific Journals, therefore I can take them with a grain of salt.
They are basically
one
scientist posting their ideas. Hardly reliable

In biology, there is no undenialable evidence of anything when it comes to behaviors- its not like you can interview a dog. Its relative and frankly, you can take this any way you want if you know what you are doing.
It all boils down to this- what is true emotion, do animals know that they have them and do they know how to use/ understand others emotions?
If you can answer yes to all of these, you sir, deserve an honorary degree.
Edit for spelling
QFT.... No one knows the answer. But to say, "No" until proven otherwise, or "Yes" until proven otherwise is ridiculous.

You seemed to have missed my post.
And MyTie/Sag I feel I have been too narrow in that statement.

Until there is undeniable evidence that animals have emotions, they don't have emSo a cat purrs and licks you (while smiling), but that has nothing to do with him loving and having affection for you, it's just because you fed him that morning? Are you reading what you're typing?
How does food translate into "i'm gonna lick you and make vibrating noises"?
That's like saying you only care about your parents because they provide food and shelter for you. You only hug them out of instinct, not because you are genuinely grateful for what they've done to you.
Basically what you're saying makes absolutely no sense.

hmmmm, this thing has given me food when I did this, therefore if I do it again, more food!

Umm... no. Laihendi feeds his pets in the morning, that's it. His pets show sign of affection throughout the entire day. And on many days it's his mom who feeds them, not Laihendi. The cats in particular are more at ease around Laihendi simply because he plays with them more. Just because you don't understand the complexities of animals doesn't mean they don't exist.
Also:
