Because they're gnomes.

This is all wrong, blood elfs can be warriors, player's just can't create them because then they would be able to roll 7 classes.
Humans, Draenei, Trolls and Blood Elves
can
choose from 7 classes.
DKs dont count
This is true. You can't count Death Knights, since every race can be Death Knights. Prior to the expansion, the max was six. It's more about balancing how many classes are available to each race. Counters.
6: Humans/Trolls
6: Draenei/Blood Elves (which makes sense, since they were both released in the Burning Crusade)
5: Dwarves/Orcs
5: Undead/Night Elf
4: Tauren/Gnomes
I think I got those counts right.

Anarchy
Blood elves became addictive to arcane magic, so they depend on mana alot. Warriors depend on there hands to do there work for them to gain rage and use their abilities, mana would be useless to warriors.

Every race can be a Warrior . . . except BE's.
To the OP: Because they needed ONE race that can't be warriors.

To all those who say that Paladins are more or less the same as Warriors, I beg to differ. Warriors derive all their abilities from inside themselves; the fight itself is what drives them. Paladins on the other hand derive their battle prowess from their connection to the Light. It would thus make sense that a Blood Elf who is addicted to magic (and thus has little mastery over himself and must rely on external sources for his power) would not make a good Warrior.

He is actualy a "eclipsion" Blood elve under the corrupted command of Illidan Stormrage himself. So things might be a bit different for him. And he is not actualy a warrior but a Blood knight (dark version of a paladin)
He's not a Blood Knight either (I don't remember him having a mana bar). He's a Darkener, same as Thaladred in TK, I guess it's an Outlands BE army elite unit.
Actually Blood Elves could be warriors in the early stages of BC beta, but then they decided to give shamans to the Alliance and Paladins to the Horde so they needed a race for Horde to be Paladins.
