Though this is highly a function of what gear level you are currently in, haste is generally better than crit.
haste is better than crit at all gear levels and for all specs. this is by quite some margin.

well, if it's a bit of real life then that's probably for the best.
if you just need a break from the game i'd suggest aion. it's really pretty and a lovely place to spend a month but one quickly starts seeing reasons to play wow after that initial month ^_^

==WAAAaaaaaaayyy off topic. sorry. aion review incoming - please feel free to ignore==
MMOs that get the kind of investment that aion got don't do free trials until the hype cycle effectively gets past the 'boxes on shelves' stage. at this point they can get a lot of money from the "wow tourist" type (like myself tbh) by getting them to buy the box instead of playing for 14 days for free.
there are ways to get the game downloaded. actually if you download the ncsoft launcher and sign in with your friend's account i'm sure you can DL it directly from that.
it's not limited compared to wow, it's just a very different game. "wow clone" is not a description that fits aion like it did games like lotro even if it does have some familiar trappings like glowing icons over the heads of people who want to give you quests etc.
it has asian roots and they start shining through once you get characters into the level20s. there aren't enough quests to get through a full level so grinding is inevitable and from 25 onwards you start to see that end-game = PvP. these aren't bad things but they aren't what i'm looking for and people who otherwise very much enjoy wow's mechanics may well feel the same.
that said, it looks fantastic (i've never taken so many screenshots in a game before) and that takes it a surprisingly long way. the wings are an amazingly good idea. gliding, sounds like a gimmick but it revolutionizes things in a small but meaningful way. i go back to wow and keep trying to double jump to get my glide on.
best.
idea.
ever.
(honestly, no sarcasm. it's great)
i'd say it's really worth a look and probably worth that $40 - you may only play for a month but a fun month is worth $40 right?
but if you do decide to pay the cash be warned about where the game heads at higher levels. if you like the PvP thing then find a cool legion (guild) and get into it - the game does some innovative things with the PvP.

If you also read, I haven't updated this in a long time, and don't plan on it. I'm done with the game.
