Tomorrow I have to do something I REALLY don't wanna do.
My Grandmother (Age 93) suffered a small heart-attack 3 weeks ago, she is now concerned that her time left is running out, and wants to start her will to split her MANY assets among our LARGE family. Lots of legal paperwork to be pushed, and since she needs 2 witnesses for the signing of the Will, she picked me, along with another one of my cousins.
/sighs. Its not that I don't wanna help her, quite the opposite, she's among the people I respect the most on this earth, its more like I wanna believe she's never gonna die, and this is us basically "writing it down" that she will, eventually.
I guess I WANT to be naive enough to think that my grandmother is never gonna die. That she's too badass and the Grim Reaper is too scared to come claim her in person. I mean she did beat a shotgun-armed burglar by herself. AT AGE 87. She's by far the strongest woman I've ever known (And I don't just mean physically, but mentally and in willpower too) and if you looked at her, you'd be hardpressed to believe she's 93, considering the dexterity by which she moves, and her mental acumen that to this day I still haven't been able to defeat her at Chess or Sudoku.
But sadly, I know better. We all gotta go one day. I just hope my grandma's day is as far away as possible.

I'm sorry Rank :(
I feel the same way any time my father brings up assets and bank accounts and such.

Sorry to hear that Rank. My grandma sounds like yours: a spitfire, good hearted, and bright. She's the wittiest and funniest person I know. I wish you all the best - keep yer chin up!

I have similar sentiments as well. Having known only one of my grandparents (both my grandfathers and my father's mother passed away before I was born or shortly after, to my recollection) I also wish that my grandmother wouldn't die. She's really kind and while seemingly old-fashion, very tolerant of the ways of the newer generation kids =).
Then I learned she wasn't flying out to the US anymore because she was getting on in years. Made me realize the power aging has. I was a little upset. =(
I'll see you guys later...

Losing a family member is never easy and thinking about going through it again, especially with someone as fantastic as your grandmother sounds must be even harder. Good luck, Rank.

Wow...i have got more attention and scolding for calling out a forum troll, who is a
KNOWN AND ADMITTED TROLL
than anything else I have posted. I guess I will go back to just being a lurker.
Edit: Added link to one of his threads admitting he was a troll.

Nah, we're (certainly in my case) only taking the time to mention it because we respect you and your posts here. It's not at all because you've done something awful. I'm sorry if I made you feel that way.

@Rankkorr
Sorry to hear you are going through this situation. I was in a similar spot a year ago after my Grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer for the 2nd time. (She had beat it 10 years prior, and it came back.) She wanted to completely redo her will after some things got out into the open. It did all I could do to sit there with her and the lawyer and think that one day she wouldn't be here anymore.
Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family man.

Pancake bunny dissects unfounded arguments with the precision of a ninja. A pancake ninja. Stuff and things were written- observe my technique and learn, grasshoppers. Pancake-grasshoppers.

I remember that thread. I remember watching it unfold and how much of a /facedesk it was.
Those threads are the kind I avoid because it's just full of so much argument and misleadment. I, too, have noticed how often that person posts and how unproductive their responses are. But instead of feeding the troll, be like the Beatles and let it be.

TBH, the part of my first post that asa cut was probably a bit too blunt for most poeple, but i was just trying to warn our new Blizz rep to not fall trap to the troll....after that, I was a little grumpy that i got sniped by greentext lol.
Edit.
@elhonna
Lay off the pancake sauce!...You are starting to post in nonsense jibber jabber flibbity flobbity

There is serenity in the way of the pancake. Remain calm when debating, and ask the right questions, and soon your opponent will give you the tools with which to undo him. It is more work to paint someone as a uninformed, than to hand him the brush and let him paint himself into that corner for you. And then you have more time for Bejeweled too.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##

I was raised in a militaristic family...you didnt paint anything, you picked up a stick and beat it into submission while telling it how stupid it looked for doing whatever got them the beating. LOL
Mind you, telling someone they are acting stupid, saying stupid things, dressing stupid is different from calling them stupid.
Come to think of it, I wonder if that is whats wrong with me and why I am so blunt.....things to ponder while I eat my burrito at lunch in a little bit.
Yes, I was often the one getting beat into submission, but that is between me, the net, and everyone else who cares enough to care.
