Just out of curiosity, to all you foreign folk, what do you all consider "American food"?
Gonna guess a large majority of response would be 'hot dogs' heh.

Yeah, I figured it'd be stuff like that. As long as it's not the KFC Double Down or something ridiculous like that, lol.

When we got American food in China (not a brand name like McDonalds, but like a family-owned place) it was a blatant rip-off of KFC, and all I can remember is that they gave us corn on the cob and fired chicken- maybe french fries? It's been...hmmm...I guess 12 years, so I don't remember fully.

Maybe scones would be the closest word? I mean, when I think of scones, I think of a sweet biscuit.

Grits, biscuits and corndogs. Though I can never remember what grits is.
We don't even really have a word for what you call biscuits. Cos we call biscuits what you call cookies, and cookies here refer to only chocolate chip cookies.
Aww man, I'm really happy corndogs is up there. They may be horribly unhealthy but I ^&*!ing looooooooooove corndogs. Grits are pretty delicious too. Biscuits, well, I had no idea they were particularly American. When we got American food in China (not a brand name like McDonalds, but like a family-owned place) it was a blatant rip-off of KFC, and all I can remember is that they gave us corn on the cob and fired chicken- maybe french fries? I could definitely see corn on the cob as one. And french fries, even though it's ironic that
french
fries are so American.

Yeah I suppose that does kind of fit.
I never have eaten a scone. Always wanted to, everyone seems to think they're delicious

They absolutely are, with clotted cream, strawberry jam and tea, nom!
And we mean real jam, not your gelatinous nonsense!

Freedom fries, bro.
Fun fact: a family-owned diner in my area still has French fries and French toast on their menus as "freedom fries" and "freedom toast". I once tried to order the latter and the waiter wouldn't take my order until I said it was freedom toast...it was silly. Can't really tell if they're being serious, although they definitely started it that way.
