I run with a core group which normally consist of a Hunter, Feral Druid tank and lock. The remaining member for the group could be anyone depending on who is on in the guild (normally another lock or a mage).
The hunter doesn't figure into the equation because rarely do I have to heal her outside the battle. She will replentish up at all times. The lock/locks I do get a little annoyed with however as others have said in this post, our mana regen is much better so I am looking at it from that perspective. It also just means that we get on the move again quicker. And really, I can crit heal these locks and almost heal them to full from very low. So the mana cost for one or 2 greater heals is nothing.
And the feral druid will often come out of battle and top himself up with heals if the battle has been an extremely heal intensive fight.
We all work together and appreciate each others abilities and take note of the battle and the drain on each player. If you can get a group like that, you don't mind throwing a heal or a rez to them on the occassions they need it.

Month late for a serious reply but I'm bored so I'll post anyways.
You all completely missed the point. ^^
I would gladly be the only one to have to run in and res everyone in a 25 man scenario. I have never had a healer I know complain about it. Rather the complaints come when you 'don't' let them res you say at the end of a wing in Naxx 25.
I was trying to be lighthearted and joke about it but I guess that came off wrong.
My comment about 'not that difficult' Was NOT directed to mid combat. That is extremely taxing and hard to do especially in certain bosses.
I mean out of combat. It is not hard. I will no questions asked volunteer to do Summons, Ports, Tables, Buffs, and Res' given the twisted world where a mage would have that kind of ability. But sadly I am not allowed to help out with all of it so that is left to you to do your job.
However, as willing as i would be to help. I dare anyone to be ungrateful or a jerk about it. They could have fun dying.

Personally my main at Burning Crusade was a lock, now I switched to a priest. When I was a lock, I always life tapped, because why should I eat, if single renew is enough? Of course, if there was no mage in our party, then I usually gave money for life tapping healing (they need to buy drinks too, you know), and now when I am a priest I never get bothered by fact I need to heal locks. It's their nature, they are not like other caster classes, they get OOM faster than anyone. Also they can't life drain if they are destruction, what's the point of being DPS if you gonna self heal? Well, that's my opinion.

Do you guys get *!@#ed if I (either as DPS or Tank) never eat, but bandage to near full (bandages heal for about a quarter of my HP)?
I never really liked sitting to eat for some reason (even if i carry 3 stacks of food), and I go through stacks of bandages fairly quick that way.

You're there to heal, their food is there for soloing.
Except when the mage just paid for all their food & water in one table...
I also like this :
Running back from a wipe, I sit down eat and drink for well feed buff.
The rest of the group will stand there doing nothing.
I then go afk.
Come back a minute later and they still standing there below 50% health without a 'well fed' buff.
And this is most likley happening in groups with sub-par dps of around 1000dps in lvl80 heroics.
The exception to my behaviour above is when we don't wipe.
In these cases, no one is below 95% health because I'm just such awesome healer.
The only reason we wipe is because some noob pulled extra adds more than I can handle, dps keeps pulling aggro and dies, tank doesn't stand in void zone to remove 'shock of sorrow' debuff, etc, etc.

To me, there is a pretty clear line. I used to run with someone that has the same attitude as you. I rarely got heals during the fights. Sure, I sit and eat between fights if needed, but, couple things here.
If you are burning through all your mana between pulls and the tank is geared well and doing a decent job, then it's not anyone else but the healer. (Unless they are being stupid and not moving out of AoEs etc. You do realize that if the group is taking damage during a fight, they can;t bandage, right? Do you also know that pots only heal about 4k health, right? So I heal myself for 4k, then I have o wait until after the pull to sit and eat just to get my health up? maybe I misunderstood this part.
As for heals between fights...well, I haven't run with someoen that doesn't have the mana to heal between fights to keep the run going quickly for a long time. it's generally faster to get heals between pulls and keep moving than it is to sit and eat after every pull.
Just another perspective. To demand heals is crap though, Tell them to eat it.
