Lol, and there's a post count comment; well that's the standard response of a troll.
So, won't back up any of your 'discussions' and feel the need to send people off to Google, showing you don't have solid evidence. Really, all I needed to know; have a nice time here on the forums Wowpixel.
Let's see, how many pages now has this drawn out too, again Adamsm? All for "proof" you think doesn't exist, because you're looking in the wrong place?
And since you can't understand when to "let go" since now 2 pages isn't enough trolling for you, I will bow out -- not because I can't defend myself -- but because this looks really silly: You're arguing against all MMO game development, and not worth giving attention. Pure nonsense.
Dawkins at least got that debating tactic right: don't give light to the ignorant.

It wouldn't have drawn out so long if you actually have proof of a dev saying that. If anything, you are both at fault for letting this drag on for another page.
And I looked, all I found are topics of people complaining about how it's a time sink. But no blue response flat out saying that.

It wouldn't have even gotten to another post if folks would read, and not respond in knee jerk fashion.
Automatically associating all gaming to Blizzard will do that. When even Blizzard develops to industry standards.

When people read things they don't believe are true without proof, they demand proof.
You denying proof and saying "it's not my job to tell you" or "you're not looking in the right place" seem to make people not believe you even more.
Then going on and saying they are trolls for not believing you and your lack of information is even worse.
And I looked. I googled "ghost run time sink dev response" and got nothing but what I stated before.

Right.
But if a quarterback is too earnest to run the ball and runs the ball to the opposing side to score to win at any cost (even to lose the game), it also looks foolish. So interested in scoring he forgot which field post was his side.
That's the problem here. Even if I posted multiple links with devs (you know there's more than Blizzard devs in the world?) discussing the purpose of the ghost walks and how they're being phased out, such quarterbacks would spend more time trying to score with preconceived ideas, than with facts.
Like with Dawkins not giving creationists a forum to spout their views, I don't give the same knee jerkers "air" time. And you can do this, as the facts exists that isn't disputed. It's not being cocky, it's knowing the difference between blind defense and the facts.
Just like it took Blizzard forever to bring in appearance armor (set in their design philosophy and refusing to budge when it's even the status quo now in MMOs). Blizzard doesn't change game mechanics even though the rest of the industry is moving on with other more creative ways to manage ingame time. It took RIFT's AoE looting to light a light bulb that single looting a mob of 40 NPCs isn't worthwhile in a 5 expansion game. And their response to even that was lukewarm. Same applies here with ghost walking -- it's long past its usefulness -- yet Blizzard stubbornly sticks to it. EQ even did away with it, and folks know how much of a time sink that MMO can be!

You're still beating around my point of "I looked and found no proof". I even left out "world of Warcraft" and I didn't get anything related to ghost runs being a time sink from any dev for any game. Like I said, they were all about people saying they were.
I even looked up EverQuest ghost runs and still nothing but people talking about it on blogs or forums. (The top two search results were this thread, what does that tell you?)
I searched "ghost run time sink" and got more results for some movie called Ghost Ship than I did results for gaming.
Even tried "ghost run time sink MMO" and that brought up topics where they talked about ghost runs and time sinks, but in completely different ways. (The time sinks were about activities in the game and not the act of ghost running.)
So unless you have some super secret web page with all the game devs, and not just the ones that work at WoW, talking about the time sink that is ghost runs, I suggest you post a link to it so we can see that it exists.
As for myself, I won't be wasting anymore data replying.

Nope.
It's called just educate yourself. Google is your friend. Unless you're ready to say all the developers in the gaming industry are wrong about ghost walking being a time sink. Then that's just foolish talk, and talk not worth giving "air" time too, as it's patently false.
This debate reminds me of the "debate" about appearance armor and how the defenders tried to defend Blizzard (same goes with player housing and guild halls). While the rest of the industry is moving along developing these things and other quality of life improvements, the defenders will bury their heads in the sand and claim everyone else is wrong...but Blizzard's way is perfect.
Not interested in circular logic "debates". That defy even the industry. Especially from mere forum posters who believe using "burden of proof" as a means to justify their stance. When the stance is abused.

Did you not read the entire rest of his post where he said he searched with multiple different search terms and found nothing? Or are you just trolling? Because I couldn't find anything either, so unless you can prove us wrong
with links
, the logical conclusion is that you're making it all up.

How about this: ask Blizzard. Ask them directly why this archaic time sink does exist 5 expansions into the game, too. They won't deny it's a time sink (because it is), they'll probably defend the decision as a means of consequence (despite there's none for trolling/ninjaing/ganking).
I don't make these things up, nor need too.

BTW, if your object is to seed forums (71k worth), that is not how to do it. Because once someone says to you they're not playing that monday morning quarterback game, you need to move on. Everything after that point is just post padding...and looks it.
<lol the entire argument contents of this thread>
I am amused. Let me get some popcorn.
In all seriousness though, this is starting to go off topic in the sense that the thread is turning into a flamewar as opposed to well, discussing the topic.

In interest to continue this topic, I will add my own two ghost runs story. However if wowpixel will add those links he famously claims exist but no one else can find I will look at them in amazement.
First one is during early days of World of Warcraft. I was in a Strat Baron group, we was getting ready to start the instance then we suddenly got a Disconnect. I logged back swiftly and irritated over it to be stunned that I would see.
A pile of dead bodies. Not just some dead bodies, I mean hundreds and worst floating several hundreds yard over Alterac Mountains. We was still in the general so people shouted and added some interesting fact that they all seemed to come from an instance group. All instance groups in the realm of some reason went DC and awoke dead. Intrigued as I was it was restored to normality after a second Disconnect after around 5-7 minutes.
I awoke alive in the Stratholme cementary with the rest of my group and we decided "shrug and go on with the instance".
The second one is not that dramatic as the first but really one of those "WTF moment". I was in Scarlet Library sometime during vanilla. Everything went fine until the group wiped. I released the spirit only to find myself alive in bloody westfall seperated from the others. After a bloody awkward saying to the others to wait a bit gotta hitch a gryphon ride to WPL and ride to monastary we completed the run. I was the healer in the group so one reason I believe they did not bot me off.
