I don't know if this has been asked recently so i apoligise in advance if it has...but from the topics listed as "BM Spec" that i read i couldnt find it.
When you hit lvl 60 and get the 51 point talent "Beast Mastery" in the BM tree, Do the 4 extra points your pet is granted get given to it then and there meaning suddenly it has 5 points when it hits 60...Or do you have to wait till 80 to get them or how do the extra points the talent mentions work?
Appreciate some help with this.

When you ding 60,
you
get
1
talent point. If
you
invest that in
Beast Mastery
, your
pet
gains
4
talent points. If your
pet
dings afterward,
the pet
will have a net talent gain of
5
.
Hope that helped. Also, of note, if you invest in this talent, you should have two special pet abilities after spending those 5 points.

Also as i understand it the bear does not have Thunderstomp currently and the gorilla does however i am rather partial to my bear tank. When i clicked the "Pet Talent Calculator" link on the main Wowhead page and clicked Bear i saw Thunderstomp int here. Does that mean After 3.1 Bears will be able to use Thunderstomp?
The way i understand it this seems to be one of the greatest reasons people have for choosing a Gorilla over a bear for a tank.
btw Thx for clearing up the first question great to know it will have a net gain of 5 points at 60 after investing in the 51 point talent.

Patch 3.1 will likely introduce Thunderstomp to ALL Tenacity pets. So remember Vanilla WoW's intro video with the Dwarf and Bear, well now that becomes a reality.
Bear will be able to use Thunderstomp & Swipe making them arguably the best AoE Tanks. Croc's will still be better for massive pulls I'm guessing but either way. As far as leveling is concerned, the earliest tenacity pets will get Thunderstomp is at level 44. So from a leveling perspective your typical hunter should Turn off the Focus Dump abilites so your Bear will have Swipe and Thunderstomp active seeing as they both have short cooldowns.
Its just me but I still think lowbies might have some trouble with Focus but I'm assuming just turning off the Focus Dump ability should fix that. Well just my 2 cents. Have fun guys.
Focus Dump Ability...Like claw for a bear? or something else.

What's currently planned for 3.1 is for some new talents for pets that only the BM hunters can get, and Thunderstomp will be in the Tenacity tree for the whole family while gorillas get a different special ability.
Wild Hunt
&
Silverback
are the ones in Tenacity i have noticed.
Still no mention by anyone of which abilities would be considered 'Focus Dumps' and should be turned off to go along with

From What i can tell of this TheMaster is saying 'Turn off Claw & Growl' after 3.1 when Thunderstomp is introduced and your pet is 44+ in order to train for it.
I'm wondering is i got the right idea froma scertaining that Claw & Growl were 'Focus Dumps' because Growl is going to be replaced by thunderstomp and Claw by Swipe ?
