Mine has been doing that for the past 5 hours since my server came back up. you wait forever to finally get logged in and then you're lucky if it lasts for 5 min. talked to some people on vent and nobody seems to be able to stay feathermoon for more than 5 min. Damn crotchety old server.

You know, taking 10 minutes to retrieve my characters, ok. Waiting 10 minutes to get through the loading screen, ok. I can deal with that. BUT NOT BEING ABLE TO LEAVE OUTLANDS is making me ANGRY. Not to mention ANYTIME you change a zone (instance or whatever) it takes 10 minutes to load. Not sure how blizzard screwed that one up, loading is clientside. We will see a decent sized patch tomorrow.

Could someone please tell me how long the blizzard updater takes? It's taking forever :(
well for me the first 50% or so went by in a flash then the next half took a 1hr and 30mins for me not sure how it is on other comps
Well i hope mines the other way round because it's taking me so long, 5% done its at common-MPQ been going for about..15-30 minutes, Just want to play WoW!
You wouldn't be able to play, even if you had the patch downloaded. The game is still glitchy and probably won't be back to normal until sometime tomorrow.
Well i don't know, most of the complaints are coming from Americans, Can somebody check if the Oceanic servers are up?
I believe its all servers that are having issues, although some are having less than others. If you're lucky, maybe you'll get on tonight after your patch finishes loading. The reason most complaints are coming from Americans is because most of the people who play the game are American. XP
Oceanic is working fine. Blizz doesn't bother to put the money into the US server farms that they did for the EU farms.

I just need to vent... this is absolutely non-tolerable! Blizzard, a multibillion, dollar company that is aware of their intentions should have adequate servers and other implications to make sure this just doesn't happen. I was sort of excited knowing I would be at work today and get off around 10pm! Thinking I could jump right on being it would be all day fore them to get the issue ironed out... WRONG.
About 30mins until midnight here and nothing! Much appreciated Blizzitches (yea, I am $%^&ed)
I agree, they should have implications to prevent these situations!
...</mocking sarcasm>
If you thought for a second that everything would be running smoothly and going according to Blizzard's estimated schedule, then you clearly haven't been keeping up with their history. It's been passed down the grapevine for the last month or more that, once the patch is implemented (and for the record, the word you were looking for was "implementations"), Blizzard would have a host of problems to sort through before most of the servers became at all playable.
I understand the frustration of not being able to log on, because I can't either. Quite frankly, I'm a bit bored, myself, even though there are quite a few other things I could be doing. However, it's also important to understand that no amount of complaining is going to make Blizzard work any faster. Anyone who works in a moderately stressful environment can tell you that, more often than not, the addition of stress makes it
harder
to complete your task, not easier. It's late in the U.S. If you're so dependent on playing WoW, then I'd suggest getting some sleep. More than likely, the game will be running properly tomorrow. For most of us, 24 hours is not the difference between life and death, and if it is, you shouldn't be wasting it trying to play WoW in the first place.
Nope, blizzard isn't working on anything. They have quite clearly stated that they fixed their one 'problem' and now they're just letting the community suffer through their lack of hardware and network until enough people get *!@#ed off and quit for the night so that their servers can catch up with all the new data w/o putting any of the rougnly $120M they make a month into upgrading systems.
I guarantee you the execs knew exactly what today would be like and the response was that of why spend any money if we know they'll still come back later no matter how bad it is.
You think it's bad now? WotLK will be followed by at least 2 weeks of constant server crashes during prime time after it is 'stable'.
Pratical matter is, when a company has this many subscribers, they don't have to care about their customers.

HAHAHAHA. Enjoy hating yourself for giving your fifteen bucks to the evil monsters at Blizzard. I'll be over here in the corner laughing at you turds balling up your fat little fists and waving them all over the place.
Joke's on you bud, I'm actually playing Warhammer. Since it's working.
