also in pvp is not a nerf imho....ok less burst but 20 secs of more energy > vanish > other 20 sec > prep vanish > other 20 secs....
less burst more sustained..a lot more.

definitely a nerf, but everybody knows overkill is too strong atm so its needed. neverless, if there isnt any other major change i think ppl will still stick to 41/5/25 cookie cutter build.

Slight pve buff. I see vanish being used offensively on bossfights on every cooldown for a mini adrenaline rush. Old overkill gave 60 energy, the new one gives 260 over 20 seconds. I'm happy.
Wait, 60 energy over 6 secs means 10 energy per sec (though, I think you can at most save 40-50 energy from the current overkill, due to GCD being 1.5 secs) and 260 energy over 20 sec means 13 energy per sec...
The only part of this that seems like a nerf is the fact that your first skill doesn't cost 10 less energy, as the new one does not have any real effect on the first one
Doesn't that mean that it's about as good, if not better, for pvp too?
That is, unless my brain is too dead to calculate anything correctly (it feels that way, at least)

The gcd for rogues and druids in cat form is 1 second. Thus, current overkill gives you 60 energy if you use and ability every gcd, which you should. The new overkill will boost your energy regen by 30%, which will be 13 per second, for 20 seconds. That's 260 energy.
It's not a pve buf, it's just a pvp nerf, reducing the frontloaded damage mut/prep can dish out.

I'm too tired to do the math:
For farming/trash, does this mean I'll be able to now squeeze out a 4th Fan of Knives?

Old Overkill
t+0 130 energy
t+1 Cheapshot -30, Regen +10, 110 energy, 2cp
t+2 Mutilate -45, Regen +10, 75 energy, 5cp
t+3 Pause, Regen +10, 85 energy, 5cp
t+4 Kidney Shot -15, Regen +10, Relentless +25, 105 energy
t+5 Mutilate -45, Regen +10, 70 energy, 3cp
t+6 Mutilate -45, Regen +10, Overkill Fades, 35 energy, 5cp
t+7 CB+Evis+Pyrorocket -35, Regen +10, Relentless +25, 35 energy
t+8 Pause, Regen +10, 45 energy
t+9 Pause, Regen +10, 55 energy
t+10 KS fades, Mutilate -55, Regen +10, 10 energy, 3cp
New Overkill
t+0 130 energy
t+1 Cheapshot -40, Regen +13, 103 energy, 2cp
t+2 Mutilate -55, Regen +13, 61 energy, 5cp
t+3 Pause, Regen +13, 74 energy, 5cp
t+4 Kidney Shot -25, Regen +13, Relentless +25, 87 energy
t+5 Mutilate -55, Regen +13, 45 energy, 3cp
t+6 Pause, Regen + 13, 58 energy, 3cp
t+7 Mutilate -55, Regen +13, 16 energy, 5cp
t+8 Pause, Regen +13, 29 energy, 5cp
t+9 Pause, Regen +13, 42 energy, 5cp
t+10 KS fades, CB+Evis+Pyrorocket -35, Regen +13, Relentless +25, 45 energy
t+11 Pause, Regen +13, 58 energy
t+12 Mutilate -55, Regen +13, 13 energy
Basically with the new Overkill, it will take you 12 seconds to do the same amount of damage (minus white swings and poison procs) as the old Overkill would in 10 seconds.

Assuming 130 energy,
4 FoK @ 4 seconds (old)
4 FoK @ 7 seconds (new)
5 FoK @ 9 seconds (old)
5 FoK @ 11 seconds (new)
6 FoK @ 14 seconds (old)
6 FoK @ 15 seconds (new)
7 FoK @ 19 seconds (old)
7 FoK @ 18 seconds (new)
I think my numbers are correct, but according to this you will only have an advantage if you do 7 consecutive Fan of Knives and only by 1 second.

man they are genius , they make a nerf that looks like a buff at first look.
btw I'm not happy with high burst, but when some classes get burst nerfs and some
stay intact it only makes pvp more unbalanced than it already is.
It is already hard for me to kill ret pallies with their insane burst, and DKs and bear druids kill me over and over, I am not sure what to do maybe I should go pve
for some time.
I'm pretty sure most people realized this was a nerf for most intents and purposes.
60 energy over 6 seconds (old Overkill)
60 energy over 20 seconds (new Overkill)

Will this put mutilate above combat again?
Mutilate is already above combat for Murderable mobs and close for non-Murderable mobs.
Really? Where are you getting your information from?
Murderable bosses in Ulduar and top 20 worldwide DPS breakdown:
Ignis - 13 combat, 7 mutilate
Razorscale - 20 combat, 0 mutilate
Iron Council - 8 combat, 12 mutilate
Kologarn - 20 combat, 0 mutilate
Auriaya - 20 combat, 0 mutilate
Thorim - 14 combat, 6 mutilate
Hodir - 10 combat, 10 mutilate
Freya - 20 combat, 0 mutilate
General - 9 combat, 10 mutilate, 1 hat
Let's not forget to mention that Mutilate only tops the DPS record on Hodir and Iron Council with the rest being Combat being in the #1 spot.

This is assuming BiS gear of course, I probably should have stated that before.
There is a difference between theorycraft and actual performance. Mutilate can be potentially 20% higher DPS for all I care, but when it comes down to actual performance it falls behind Combat.
All of this "estimated DPS" is assuming you can't have to move, the boss doesn't cause you to stop DPS, etc etc...
