Can confirm, error status code 500 is present.

This should now be resolved again. Please give it another try. Thank you!

I'm still getting status code 500. Just tried reinstalling the client.
In addition, Tools>options>Wow folders the path is the same as it has been for years c:/games/WoW but if I tell it to detect it says It can't find it, and that it might not be installed. If I point it directly to the location manually, it tells me that the path is invalid.

We're not seeing any new errors in the logs. Are you sure you're still getting this?

Bessiq,
Thank you for this information!
I'm not sure if it will help at all with the detection of my game folder, but at least it's someplace for me to start looking, and maybe feel better that I've done what I was able to fix/workaround the problem.

NFKnight, can you go to Tools -> Options > Clear your PTR line <click> Detect and see if that fixes the detection issue?
Make sure, under About, you're on v1.9.11(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##

This morning the Wowhead Client updated for me and since then I'm getting that pesky error code. The client worked fine before that update, though.
Just quoting myself to bring you an update: I just uploaded data fine, so I assume the error is gone. Will be on watch should it appear again.

I was having problems with the error code 500 as well(not sure if it's still a problem for me yet). So far, I deleted all my WTF files for all but one character. Made sure all of my interface was good to go with him, and error free. I used the data delete feature in-game, and then removed all of the wowhead files in my add-ons folder, then in my WTF files. I uninstalled the client from my computer, and went into the program data(need to show hidden files to get here). I finally went into the wow folder and deleted cache and log files from my computer. I'm also paranoid about programs using data that's saved somewhere else, so in windows 10 x64 I deleted all my web browsing info in MS Edge, then in internet options, under control panel, and then did a complete disk cleanup under control panel/system/admin tools. Was all this necessary...probably not, but I figure if I get rid of as much info on my computer that's possibly and/or remotely related to the problem, or program, I have a better chance of making the problem go away. I have not yet gone into the registry to search for files manually, and check on them and edit, or delete as warranted. I didn't do a file search, as I have spreadsheets and docs with all sorts of info I use that mentions wowhead, or has links from copy/paste into word or excel. I seem to like doing this to get a hard copy of info I want in the format I want it in.
Before I went to bed this morning, I logged into the character I still had an interface set up in, and checked all my add-ons for character specific profiles, which for me were recount, omen and ElvUI and deleted the profiles for everything except for the character I was on. I was having a few minor issues with other add-ons as well, so all of this was also for those problems. I reloaded, rechecked the interface and logged out, shut down the battle-net app, then copied all of the WTF data from my remaining character, and pasted it into the others. I started the game up again, and got my interface situated on all my characters, and went to sleep.
I just downloaded the wowhead client, and set up the options. I'm still not able to set the default folder location through the client. I'm not sure if this effects the upload info, or is just for starting the game through the wowhead client, but I don't like errors, so I'm going to stop writing my little novel, which I hope may help others in solving/diagnosing where the problem lies. As soon as I delete/modify the registry key, I'll give things a try again, and let you know what else I did, and what my result is. Bessiq had posted the appropriate registry key location in another post. I'll repost it here shortly if everything seems to work out well and error free.
Since there's still data from my game, I did do an upload before coming here to try and fix my problems. I was able to do so
without
the error code 500. Of course what it uploaded was most likely uploaded previously, and didn't include any profile information fresh from the game.
Here's the rest of what I've done, and everything is working well, so far as I can tell.
I typed regedit in the run box, exported my registry, in case I messed something up, and my computer started complaining. I navigated to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Wowhead\Wowhead Client\Options
Here are the options I had in my registry, with the exception of the data in the last line. Yours should look pretty similar. You'll have small tag looking thing in front of the name field in all but one, which has a tag outlined in blue. Under the data for password, you'll see a string of letters and numbers, which is an encryption code. I just added the location of my PTR folder in the data field, by right clicking in the field and selecting edit, then adding the location of my folder. I closed the registry editor, restarted my computer, and checked out my options. I had the proper location for my wow folder and my ptr folder, clocked ok, and had no error message.
Name Type Data
(Default) REG_SZ (value not set)
Password REG_SZ *****your password(encrypted)*****
Preferences REG_Dword 0x0000001d (29)
Username REG_SZ *********your username**********
WoW Folder REG_SZ C:\Program Files x86\World of Warcraft
WoW Folder PTR REG_SZ C:\Program Files x86\World of Warcraft Public Test
I went in game, and did get one error, which was collected by swatter, and I believe it's an error because I had deleted all my saved variables for this particular character. Here's the error I got, which didn't happen again.
Date: 2017-03-29 16:49:54

For me, I think this was a successful workaround for my Wowhead client errors. Hope this helps!

Client just updated two files. Problem resolved.
Random note, the Account-specific data field is blank after logging out, but uploads anyway.

Sas148;
Thanks for the reply. I just saw your post, but have already gone through a bit more to try and correct the problem. I'm not sure which version I was using when I was having the problem, but right now, it's at 1.9.12. I also did as you asked, and cleared the PTR line, and it did detect the PTR location, and gives me no errors about where my folders are. I did uninstall the client, clear the log and cache folders in the wow installation folders, manually updated the registry a few days ago.
Thanks again for your help!

As of late last night / early this morning, I've been unable to upload any new data using the Looter.
:-\
Please advise.
(Edit: Here is the specific error message I'm getting.)
Wowhead Client
Wowhead is unable to process your upload at this time.
Please try again in a bit!
Thanks,
Franklin

Hi fwcain,
Did you try again "in a bit"? Is it still giving you that error?
Make sure you're on the latest version please: 1.9.12.

I'm not seeing an error anywhere, but I'm getting an out of date message in the addon list. How do I update wowhead looter to load without that problem? When I start WoW I get the, addons out of date, load anyway notice. I load anyway and don't have a problem, but I'd like to not see that at all, if possible.

The looter is updated when the Client is updated, it's automatic. The Looter should not show as OOD if your Client is up to date. Open your client, go to Help -> Check for Updates. You should be on 1.9.12.

I've been trying to upload for 3 days now. I get the "Wowhead is unable to process your upload at this time." error every time I try. I've waited for a bit and tried again, but to no avail. Suggestions?

Edit: I got it figured out. I'm leaving the below in case someone else has a similar problem and this helps them figure it out. I was able to redownload the client, found my password and uploaded the data and now wowhead looter is showing normal in the addon list. Thanks for letting me rant here as I tried to get it figured out. :D
Below is the steps I took (for anyone with a similar problem) to get it to work for me.
My client is up to date, in fact that's the reason I went looking. The client updated and I was checking my addons to be sure they were all updated. I just checked again, unchecked the Load out of date Addons button and did a reload. Wowhead Looter is the only one showing up red with the note Out of date to the right of it. Is there something that I could have inadvertently checked to stop updates? It doesn't show up in the addons tab in the interface window. I'm not sure how I would have been able to change any settings in it. But it is definitely out of date on my computer. As I said, it's the only addon that's name is read and OOD is to the right of the name.
I'm assuming by client you mean the World of Warcraft loader, right? Or do you mean wowhead client? If you mean wowhead client, I'm not sure how to update that. And it very well may be out of date. I installed it and never gave it a second thought as I set it to upload the information automatically when I exit the game.
I'm also not seeing it in my computer's icons. I wonder if it got turned off somehow as it doesn't seem to be loading when I start my computer anymore. Hmmm That maybe my problem and solution. Maybe reinstall and get it to load at start up again. Let me know if this is a possibility and then how to get it to load at start up. I can't find it, but I must have it as it's in my wow addon folder.
Typing as I'm troubleshooting. Apparently, my client isn't up to date. I had to redownload it and install it. My problem now is, I don't remember my password to upload data. I've searched my account, but I can't find where it even gives * as a password to give me a clue how many letters (which may jog my memory as to what it is). I found where I can change my password, but I need my old password in order to do that. :( Bottom line, the client isn't up to date which is why the addon is showing OOD. Now to find the solution to getting it uploading again. I left all of this in here so that someone else, who might have the same problem, can read it and discover they have the same issue to fix it. (In case anyone was wondering why I didn't just delete it all when I discovered the client wasn't running.

It's called wowhead_client.exe - It's what you use to upload data and it's what needs to be updated to have the current version of the client. If you ever removed it, the looter may remain in game but never update. Visit wowhead.com/client and see about redownloading it, perhaps that will indeed fix your issue.

Maybe not worth fixing, but FYI - the wowhead client crashes when I play more than one account at a time on the same PC (I multibox). I had hoped to collect 5x data, but I guess not. =(

I know it can acquire data from more than one account, but you're right, it's not designed to gather data
simultaneously
from multiple accounts. It's also probably unnecessary since all the characters are usually together anyhow. Try removing the Wowhead Looter as an addon from all but one of the accounts to see if that helps at all.
