Evlyn Linder
Dragonblight
Evlyn knew what they were feeling. She felt it too, that inner fire that made anything seem possible if only you laid your life in the hands of Miter Brighthammer. At that moment, she was proud to be his chosen, and all doubts that had arisen when their goal was revealed had washed away.
"My friends!" she spoke up without thinking. The words just came pouring out. "Do not think it will be easy or without peril. We have already paid direly with the life of a brave knight. But we are the Scarlet Crusade; we press on. Whatever the cost."
After that, struck by a feeling of light-headedness, she turned and left out the door.

Miter Brighthammer, Sybil Duir

Dragonblight
It was not so bitterly cold outside as it was the night before. The shapes of crusaders could be seen moving about the base camp like splashes of blood against a sea of white. Miter stood by the tower, speaking to the highlord in his red and black armour. Behind the inquisitor stood Sybil's horse, with a notable change. Saddled, it also had a sledge bound to its harness, the crude piece of woodwork long and padded with blankets. Within, lay the body of Sybil, her face looking almost at peace were it not of such a frightful blue.

The woman's gaze shot to the boy like a predator, eyes narrowed as she locked her sight onto his arm, blue hair flowing aside.
There was little clarity in her situation, and she had few options. With a grip like a shark's bite, she seized his arm, pulling herself towards him.

Borean Tundra
Dominic's eyes grew wide with shock as the metal of his bracer creaked and crumpled in her grasp. The previously unflappable nag he rode whinnied in terror and tried to jerk away from the woman, even as Dominic pulled her up with all the strength his noodle arms could muster.

Balrick watched the valkyr depart grimly. Slowly he closed his fist, hoarfrost cracking about his fingers as he dispelled the lingering magic. He swung about, contemptuously smashing his fist through a ghoul's jaw and sending the rotting undead to the ground. He strode back towards the mages, shoulders hunched and eyes flickering with blue flame.

Ithalwen Azureweaver

Above Ithalwen, a ghoul crawled on the corpse of it's fallen brother-in-death. It's hideous malformed maw opened at the high elf. Releasing a foul odor and bits and pieces of those it had eaten on.
The elf turned her head to the side, closing her eyes. She reached down with her hand to her waist. Reaching down to her dagger. A standard kirin tor dagger. hidden in a sheath with a invisibility spell. Ithalwen stabbed the inside of the ghouls head from inside it's unnatural large mouth. The undead tried to close the mouth and bite her arm of with it's rotten teeth. Thankfully it didn't have the strength to do that as unlife slipped out of it, though it did hurt. And the elf made a cry of pain until it loosened up it's jaw and she pulled her hand free. Sadly the same can't be said for herself, as two dead ghouls now rested in peace over her.

Without the valkyr to bolster them with her necromatic magic the remaining ghouls were little more than directionless and shambling nuisances. Picking up a cast off axe, Balrick smashed one's head off before coming upon Ithalwen. Grabbing the corpses piled atop the spellblade, he dragged them off and tossed them aside.

Ithalwen got up on her feet and pulled free her blade, now stained with rot and decay. "Thank you." The spellblade lowered her head in gratitude. "What happened to the thing with the wings, and where are the others?" She asked as she looked around, catching a quick rest from the battle.

Evlyn Linder
Dragonblight
Linder padded through the snow toward the inquisitor. She carefully assessed the hearing distance, not wanting to eavesdrop on the conversation, and stopped just out of it leaning on her staff as she waited for a signal to approach.

"It left," Blarick said and nodded towards the battlefield of littered and rotted corpses. "The others are over there."

Miter caught sight of the raven priest and spoke a few more words to the highlord. The armoured man nodded and departed and the inquisitor turned towards the raven priest. He beckoned her near.

Evlyn Linder
Dragonblight
"Good morning, inquisitor", Linder said when she came closer. For some reason she felt less required to keep the conversation as formal as she had yesterday. When reflected upon this vexed her, and she decided to try harder to maintain discipline, especially if they had more crusaders joining them. Thus she stopped square in front of her superior, and made sure not to lean on her staff as she gave him an attentive look.

"Evlyn." He nodded, acknowledging her. He turned to the saddled horse. "We will depart today. By evening, I hope to have reached the cave. Should I succeed in my goal, the highlord will begin delivering supplies so I might reinforce it. We will turn that place of sin and defeat for the Light into a stronghold which will tear down the Lich King."

Balrick passed his eyes over the scene of devastation. He lingered on the fallen in buildings and the bodies of the tuksarr. "We should. There is nothing more here to defend." He nodded to the rise where Tharvilus was. "Fetch the wizard," he said, starting towards Eldrina. "I will get my fellow death knight."

Tharvulius steadied his breathing, standing slowly as he viewed the massacre. "The Lich King will pay for this in blood."
"Now where did my pony go? I have some choice words for him." He bent over, hands on his knees. "Soon as I replenish my mana."

"Yes, sir", Linder replied. "I'm glad to hear it."
She eyed the sled. A symbol, he said Sybil would become, but currently she looked like most other frozen dead. She wanted to ask, but didn't. Instead, she inquired whether there was a replacement mount to carry her and when they would leave, more specifically.

"A new steed is being prepared," Miter assured her. "Along with supplies. I have instructed the stablemaster to bring them here when he is done. And I suspect that he will not be alone. We will be riding with more now, Evlyn," he told her with a meaningful look at the sledge. "We will not have a repeat of the gully."
