You should be using Heroic Strike & Devastate anyway, at the same time.

hey,
i'm leveling as protection, lvled to 50 as fury and found myself tanking more in instances then questing outside so decided to go prot (haven't regret that for a sec so not gonna chang back), that's what i made this knight for anyway, got rogue for when i feel like dps'ing
but got some questions about build, not so much about which talents (just taking the standard build from this forum) but in what order to take talents
i'm 54 and my talents are
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=LZmZ0EtoIzzcxsu
(armoury isn't working at the time i'm posting this, but i'm geared in quest and instance items, nothing to fancy)
i'm maxing out
cruelty
first (now at 4/5) bc that one does help me when ever i do quest outside (to get the quests for inside the instances) and gives extra threat while tanking but i'm not sure which talent to get afterwards
i'm thinking about maxing out
vitality
(now at 3/5) but not sure if i already got enough stamina/strenght to really make it usefull
the other talent that crossed my mind is
deflection
, but that would mean that i would get more then 5% less rage from getting hit then now while tanking (think that's so bc i'm already dodging/parrying for like 12-15% so 5% less would actually be more like 5.6-5.8% less rage, correct me if i'm wrong) and i'm finding myself often low on rage already (got plenty of rage when all dps attack same target, but generally there is atleast 1 who thinks he needs attack another mob and well i don't really like kicking ppl bc that generally means the end of the party and for the moment i don't really have that much time to play. But as a result i have to keep threat on 2 mobs getting attacked + the other ones to prefent them from going to the healer.
so i'm hoping you can tell me which talent will be most usefull for now or if there is a better build for a prot warrior when he's not 70 yet. (preferably with some explanation)
ps. perhaps when i hit outlands and go tank there the mobs will give enough dmg so i won't have the rage problem so the
deflection
problem won't be a problem at all. if so just say so then i got an answer aswell.
Thnx in advance
Ambiorix
edit: forgot the link for vitality

Hey, first of all can i say great post, it's really helped me to gear up my warrior. I have a couple of questions though.
Firstly, i was running a heroic MGT the other day and i had Quickening Blade of the Prince Drop for me;
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34609
At the time i was using Inuuro's Blade;
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34672
. The question is, do you think the +6 stamina and extra 20dps and armour penetration (for threat generation) make the Quickening Blade a better tanking weapon, or do you consider the 'tanking' stats on Inuuro's to be more desirable?
Secondly, i am hoping to be main tanking kara for my guild soon and just wondered if you though my current gear, build and stats would be good enough for the later, tougher bosses such as Prince? Here is my armoury link;
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Dentarg&n=Kitchentile
.
any advice would be gratefully accepted :)

Manc88, welcome to the forums!
First of all, make sure you're using more than one suit of armor. Now, realize I'm not going to go into detail about your gear here (make a new thread for that), but I will address
Quickening Blade of the Prince
vs.
Inuuro's Blade
.
Quickening Blade will outperform the other hands down for everything except mitigation. However, it is so much better than Inuuro's Blade I would simply bank Inuuro's or put a weapon chain on it & keep it as a backup. Simply put, throw Executioner on Quickening Blade & you have a wonderful pre-raid item far above anything short of the blacksmithing swords.
The reason I say this is because of the armor ignore & higher damage. The only reason to even keep Inuuro's Blade is for fights where you need to hit the expertise soft cap. Even then, for example Prince, I would use Quickening Blade & find expertise somewhere else.
EDIT: If you really want to get technical, Mongoose may be a better choice for Quickening Blade for potential Fury warriors as it would be a great off hand (due to the armor ignore) for Execute spam. One could also just dual wield these, placing Executioner on the tanking duplicate, etc.

There might also be something worth reading in the first Topic of the Week (the one covering mitigation vs. avoidance,

).

The new legs are better than the old ones. Much more avoidance, similar threat and similar effective health (less stamina but more armor).

120 armor is probably the best enchant to get on a cloak right now & it sure beats out dodge rating. If one needs some defense rating, though -- there's no where better to get it than on the cloak or chest.
