Eadric the Pure
Grimmwald
The Paladin chasing the Wrathguard through the city had drawn quite alot of attention by now. Mounted guardsmen were racing for the wrathguard with maces and swords extended. "Give it up demon! There's no Burning Legion out here to save you." Eadric yelled, still in pursuit.

Character
: Simon Richards
Location
: Grimmwald City, Sewer System
Simon awoke.
Well, awoke might not be the best word. It was less of a sudden awakening and more of a hard slog through the dark, sludge filled, whispering recesses of his mind. It was a difficult battle, but when he found himself victorious, his brain snapped back into action and returned him to the present.
Which, admittedly, wasn't much better.
He was in a crumbling brick cell, around eight feet wide, five feet long and seven feet high. Iron bars blocked off one side of the cell, which was illuminated inconsistently by flickering torches. He could hear a strange shuffling noise from just out of sight, but didn't pay it much heed. Not yet, anyways. There were better things to worry about at the moment.
Character
: Andrey Ivanov
Location
: Grimmwald Fields
There is a phrase, cursed with overuse and a descent into ridicule: "Death lurks in the shadows."
Unfortunately for Farmer Roberts, the phrase was entirely applicable...
The farmer entered his barn, torch lit and blade at his waist. Over the years, all the workers had learned to go armed, lest they find themselves falling prey to some being that had slipped from the Forest and past the Dark Watch. Fortunately, that didn't happen too often.
Unfortunately, when it did, it generally ended well for said farmers.
Such was the case of poor Farmer Roberts.
As he entered the barn, he stiffened. His instincts screamed at him that danger was afoot, but his senses showed no reason for such feeling. However, this farmer hadn't grown to be almost thirty years old without learning to trust his instincts. He cast a wary eye about, retreating to the door and drawing his blade. As he did, his brain registered what his body was trying to tell him: all the animals were completely silent. While the rain covered up most of the scent, he detected the faint, lingering trace of blood.
He turned to bolt, when a form appeared in front of the door, blocking his only way out. The torchlight cast it into sudden relief. It looked like a man, though it was clad in long leather robes, completely obscuring his form. A blank eyeless mask covered the thing's head, revealing only his lower jaw. It split into a smile, revealing bloodstained teeth.
Then the thing flickered and farmer Roberts was falling... falling...

Irving Mortorus, Capricia Mortorus, R. B. Havoc
Location:
Grimmwald, Mortorus Castle
Irving threw an arm out and slowly curled his fingers into a fist. "You stand before the desperate! There is no way to leave as things stand. For neither I, nor you, can leave this place. I cold only bring you here, nto cast you back. We are trapped in this realm of darkness! Trapped unless we find a way back!
"But! We are not without hope." Leaning over the rail, Irving met the eyes of every one of the newcomers. "If you want to return to your world, the only way is to help me. Help me end a reign of evil, take back control of the city in the hands of those who would propagate our capture. It does not matter what you were before I brought you here. There is only one way out, and that is to join me, join me and aid me in finding and dismantling the corruption which holds us all here.
"Free Grimmwald," Irving roared, throwing his arms wide, "and you free thousands of people from this living nightmare. If you desire money for your services, I can pay. Battle, there will be ample opportunities. Power, there is to be claimed once we destroy those who oppose us. But if you desire none of this, and would rather leave and seek some way back on your own, the door is there!"
Irving cast an accusing finger to a large wooden portal at the end of the chamber. "Follow the road, for no one who enters the forest comes back alive or sane, and you will find Grimmwald. Yet another symptom of our torment." Irving slowly crossed his arms before his chest. All around the platform the stitched together monstrosities were collecting, watching their master with slack jawed, slavish awe. "Leave! I will not stop you. But if you want to escape! Then stay here. Stay here, and join me!"
Capricia nudged Xander in the ribs. "Nice hm? He took lessons on public speaking from our great great grandfather."

Hearing the wings, Eadric roared over the tumult for archers to ready. A large crowd was chasing Crilftah, yelling different kinds of chants such as "Go back to the forest!" and "Loathsome cur!" The mounted guards now came on either side of Crilftah, their armored horses racing down the paved streets - their arms ready to slash at the demon.

"It flows well enough, but it seems like he's forcing it, just sticking to his script." Xander replied, not that he could do better. "But that's not exactly the important part..."
He flexed his hand, and for a moment; magic cracked the air around him. The air grew stiff and oppressive, the energy being snuffed out as suddenly as he had summoned it. And the man looked at his own limb in surprise.
"The twisting nether..." He echoed, realization dawning on his face. "There's no Emerald Dream here..." He sighed, closing his hand into a fist.

The Wrathguard shook his head in pity, "I offered you a chance. A mercy offered by few demons, especially in the Burning Legion."
Flying death descended upon them. A vampiric demon landed in their midst, dark spells flying from his long clawed hands. The Dreadlord smiled as guards melted around him, "You are needed on Azeroth, Crilftah."

Now bells were ringing throughout the city and guards came rushing into view. Some withdrew bows and began shooting at the Dreadlord - others the Wrathguard, and Eadric began sprinting - holding his weapon high, chanting holy incantations to himself as he did so.

Irving Mortorus, Capricia Mortorus, R. B. Havoc

Grimmwald, Mortorus Castle
Irving turned his eyes onto the undead. A corner of his lip curled slightly at the sight of the necromatic creature, though eh quickly tamped it down. He gestured to Havoc, who shrugged and took a step forward.
"Grimmwald is under guard by the Dark Watch, who try and prevent things from forest from entering the city. The city itself is under control from various factions. Like the knights from the Church of Radiant Steps who wield the light, the wizards from the society of the red moon, and the three great houses of nobles, who are immortal bloodsucking monsters. Then there's the so called cult of the damned, the wolf men, and what have you's who just generally try and eat people," the mercenary said, counting off his fingers with a phlegmatic expression.
"Oh," he suddenly started as though he just remembered something minor."Right. And its the immortal bloodsuckers that we will be trying to kill. So, hm...yes, that's a thing."
Noticing the sudden crestfallen look on Xander's face, Capricia smiled and quickly attempted to reassure him. "Oh! That sounds like something that the Harvest Witches use. Do you use the same kind of magic?"

"Because this town is more insular than a corked test tube," Irving replied sharply. "No one is willing to stand against them and their minions, if they're even willing to believe they exist! It's been forty years! Any one who tried usually winds up dead! Any other inane questions?"
Capricia sighed and covered her face with a palm. "Oh Irving..."

"You're literally deaf, aren't you?" Xander asked the orc, stepping forward. "If this city is in the twisting nether, than it stands to reason demonic forces put it there." He explained. "Ergo, to get back, we're going to have to fight demons. A lot of demons."
"That's if there's a way back at all." He stated, looking up at Irving. "No one knows we're out here, so it's going to be kind of tricky summoning the city back to Azeroth." The man continued. "And I know you've been away a while, so let me clear this up; the folks back home don't tend to take kindly to giant demonic portals anymore."

Tiz spun around, shooting the loudmouthed orc an angry gaze. She was, after all, trying to listen to the strange fellow with the machine and the military type going on about immortal bloodsuckers amidst the confusion.
Theresa, meanwhile, tried to cover her ears from the din but had begun to realize that the horrible ruckus was not a dream but very real and that she'd had to deal with it any second.
