I recently hit 90 on my first toon, which is a frost dk. I want to roll a tank just to change things up a bit. I was just wondering what the most basic tank class is. I'm looking for something that's easy to learn and will be really fun for end game raiding
Currently you have 5 options if you want to try tanking: Dks, Warriors, Pallys, Druids, and Monks.
I will say right off the bat, DO NOT try Monks until you are a very very VERY seasoned tank. Monk tanks are good, but are also very difficult to use, and require a lot of situational awareness as well as good gear, and lots of button-mashing, you will need to keep an eye on just way too much stuff.
Warriors always start somewhat weak but as others have said, once your gear starts ramping up, you're a demi-god
IMO the most newbie-friendly tank in the game is the blood Dk. Easy to learn, Hard to master, as a blood DK you have A TON of survival, and its quite easy to pick up the tricks to be better as an actual tank. They also have a very high tank DPS (if you care for that sort of thing) and once your mastery goes above 100% you are one incredibly hard to Kill SoB.
Not to mention that DK tanks have what I personally consider the best mitigation CD on the game. Anti-Magic Shell.
It has a very short CD; soaks up A LOT of magical damage (something that very few CDs do), and as if all of that wasn't enough, it recharges your runic power, which in turn gives you more rune strikes, which in turn gives you more runes, which in turn gives you more death strikes, which in turn gives you more healing and survival.
wow, that's a hell of a nice package for a survival CD that can be used every 45 seconds.

It really depends on what you want to be tanking. If you plan on raiding with your guild, they will all be about equal.
If you only plan on doing heroic dungeons. I recommend bear druids. The reason is simple, you have spammable AOE attacks. The hardest part of heroic dungeons is you will be expected to go fast... having spammable AOE attacks make it easy to get quick aggro.
As someone else said, DKs are also a really good choice because your active mitigation is part of your dps rotation. But to be honest, once you get decent equipment, as a bear, I almost never use my active mitigation, instead I just use my self-heal on occassion.
Brewmater, and to a lesser extent warriors are probably the most difficult tanks to play.
Bears. mangle, swipe, thrash...and you can blow through heroic dungeons, aoe pulls or bosses.
