WoWHead, which is owned by ZAM LLC, is an Official Blizzard Fan Site, meaning ZAM has to follow and obey Blizzard's rules for fan sites to get the distinction. I would think it rare, but possible, that a Blizzard Community Member might also post here; they are certainly aware of the site.
Likewise for WoWInterface, which is also owned by ZAM LLC. Curse, which is owed by Curse Inc, is also an Official Blizzard Fan Site, along with MMO-Champion.
For the record, neither ZAM nor Curse will do or say anything that violate Blizzard's Terms of Use.

how much is this gonna affect Wowhead are they sometimes going too join in at discussions or stick too WoW Help for now (all his posts are there atm)?
Probably won't affect it too much; same as any of the other VIP's from other sites.

Wowhead isn't a good place to get a message to Blizzard or a response from them. As such, those sorts of threads are frowned upon as much as ever.

Hey there,
I've been meaning to make a post this week about it, but Blizzard contacted us recently to say they're putting some representatives on fansites for Help-related issues.
Araxom
will be our rep and his role will be what you've seen so far. He'll just be helping out with user customer service concerns.

Hi all, sorry for the late reply - this particular thread snuck past me. What we're doing is getting a bit more limber in our approach to venturing out into the wilds of the internet (!) and trying to find issues before they come to us. As you can expect, there may be any number of processes which we have that are easy for us to resolve (because we handle them all the time), but may not be easy for someone else. I've actually been participating across a number of various sites in the last week, and we're currently in the process of digging up other areas of interest where CS issues are hiding. This is simply that- a new approach to trying to help our customers, nothing more, nothing less.
It's been very rewarding because in some cases, players didn't know they could get help from us... or didn't know how to ask. So it's neat to see their responses when I pop up all of the sudden and am like, 'Yo! We have an answer for that!'
:)
Anyway, I hope this lends some clarity to what's going on.

Not to nitpick, but some threads over here sounded like people were sent to Wowhead by GMs ;) Though we also assumed it could've been a misunderstood mention of Wowhead in a C&P reply, or simply people confusing the Wowhead forums for the official ones.
Anyway, good to know we now have someone to bug about certain things, instead of hoping for a reply on the official forums :P

The very short replys look odd with the news "Blizzard" background - I mistook it for a signature at first the last one untill I scrolled up.

This. In particular the initial line breaks and the "Blizzard" title inside the quote box thing, if that was removed it'd be less confusing. It's also superfluous since it's already in both the background and in Araxom's avatar.

The special Blizzard quote box was an existing piece of layout BBCode that we have used for a while, mostly in blogs. The default text colour for VIPs on the forum is an off-white which doesn't stand out to much by design so the Blizz quote is a convenient way to immediately differentiate Araxom's posts without requiring any additional coding at this busy time. It's a good quick fix but, yes, that line break is weird (and unavaidable).

(and unavaidable).
Portmanteau of "unavoidable" and "unevadeable".

A GM will tell a player to go to wowhead especially if it's Quest related or something that they're unable to help with. Is that wrong for them to do that? No.
The more people that visit the better! ^_^
Warm welcome from me as well Araxom.
Cheers,
Hat
