hi i have been wanting to try out a spec for any class that can heal but as of currently i have no access to monk so mistweaver is out of the question. but otherwise what would be the best race/healing class, obviously with a healing spec for a first time healer? im open to any and all options so please give me some advice

shaman. They have a melee, ranged, and healing spec. It is a powerful class in BGs and in PvE situations. As for race, really depends on if you like horde or ally.

Race isn't a big deal, especially for a healer, so just go for whichever one you like best. As for class, I rolled a Disc Priest for my first healer and found it to be pretty easy to learn (especially at low levels, which basically amounted to hitting the tank with PW:S every 15 seconds). As a priest you also have the option of switching to Holy instead if you want to heal in a different way.

I've played every healing class but Resto Shaman up to 40-ish lvl and here is my opinion.
Priest - Holy: Not my thing, I found that out already at 20-ish. Too long casttimes and generally having LoS/range problems in the end of the cast. (This was in Cata though, so IDK how it is now)
Priest - Disc: Oh how wonderful. Give your tank a bubble, if need be pop a renew on him, then go about Smitespamming with just putting on a new shield every now and then. No work nor mind needed.
Resto Druid: Well ... Cake. Put Rejuv on them and spam Moonfire/Wrath, if need be pop swiftmend. No mind or work needed, except for the times when the tank moves out of your Swiftmend, in which case you might want to use Nourish.
I know OP said S/He couldn't play a Monk, but I'm including it anyway.
Mistweaver Monk: Just stand there, channeling your one and only spell. Follow the tank, keep the channeling up until you have to move into range again, absolutely mindblowing. I've actually healed several bosses in Wailing Caverns while asleep, since at the low levels you only have to channel by pressing one button each fifteen seconds or so.
IMHO, a Disc priest or a Resto Druid would be the best choice, since you don't have any spells with a cast time that you need to actually use for anything but 'Oh-@#$%'-moments. For me, I enjoy a disc priest more because of attunement, meaning you'll be able to do viable damage throughout it all. Not to mention, there's more cloth gear with spirit to find in lower level dungeons.

I love Disc priest healing for heroic dungeons and LFR
Target boss
Holy fire, Smite x 3, penance.. rinse and repeat. (assuming holy fire and smite glyphs)... prayer of healing if there is group damage. Sometimes I put prayer of mending on myself for giggles.
Honestly, I heal both random heroics and LFR and barely ever target other players.

what is a LP?

Mistweaver Monks are currently the hardest healing class to play IMHO, you have to maintain 3 buffs and somewhat a "melee" heals which blows on most fights.

I am 31 years old and have never heard a walk-through or guide called that. Learn something new everyday I guess.

IMO it's incorrect to say that "Let's Play" is a synonym for "walkthrough". A walkthrough is a guide. A Let's Play is playthough with commentary (either in video form, or screenshots with captions form) from one or more people who are playing the game. The purposes of Let's Plays can be to show off the game or exceptional gameplay, provide insight about it, or just be generally entertaining (or all of the above). Whether or not a LP actually manages to do that is another matter though.
Some examples of good LPs can be found

Ah ok. If you want to showcase healing in WOW, then you will want to use one of the more ´normal´ specs.
holy priest, restro shaman, restro druid or holy paladin. All of those have the fairly typical target your teammate, cast spell gameplay. They are all a bit different because of cooldowns and stuff.
Mistweaver monk, and Disc priest (either bubbles or smite healing) are very different, so would not give you a normal healing experience for your videos.

What? How is a Mistweaver unable to perform "target teammate, cast spell gameplay"? They can Fistweave, yes, but that doesn't mean that they have to. It's entirely possible to play a Mistweaver like a traditional healer.
