The Intrepid Society was formed in the months leading up to The Cataclysm with one goal in mind:
"To enable players to play the game THEIR way, no forcing of specs or classes, and no pressure to commit umpteen hours of gameplay"
It was a success
Essentially it was a guild founded by players with years of WoW experience, we had been in "hardcore" guilds, we had devoted ourselves to the pursuit of shiny epics and now we wanted something different and thus Intrepid Society was born.
In the months that followed Intrepid Society grew exponentially, a social guild at heart that had a strong emphasis on the aspects of an online community. It was this emphasis that led us to re-brand as The Intrepid Society Gaming Community. WoW was still our focal point (it is after all where most of us met), but we now cover many different games, from Minecraft to Eve, from World of Tanks to Diablo, we play them all.
So this is where you come in, like any community we gain our strength from our members and we see the launch of Mists of Pandaria as a perfect opportunity to once again throw open the doors for recruitment.
So what does being a member of Intrepid Society consist off I hear you ask? Well as mentioned above we try to avoid forcing members down any set paths, instead our dedicated officers will host events throughout the week to which members are free to sign up (see below for more details).
Want to raid? Well we have a 10 man raiding team but we are looking to expand this, we also jump into the LFR on Sunday nights.
Like achievements? Love achievements? Completely addicted to obtaining every achievement in game? Look no further, every Saturday night we group up to take on as many achievements as we can get our hands on, from Vanilla to Cataclysm raids, PVP, professions, pet battles, the list is endless and our achievement Officer is dedicated to obtaining as many as possible. Got one that’s been eluding you? Suggest it and we will endeavour to get it for you.
Enjoy levelling alts? Not a problem, many guild members have lower level alts for dungeon runs.
Don’t want to do any of the above but want to be part of a friendly community while you play your game, then Intrepid Society is the place for you.
The one thing that links us together, through all our many games is our mumble server, this is where you will find the true heart of Intrepid Society, in fact it is so extrinsically linked to what we stand for that many a member after ending their relationships with particular games are still regular faces (well voices) on mumble.
Intrepid Society timetable:
Tuesday Evening - WoW raid
Thursday evening - WoW raid
Saturday evening - Achievement Night (a social gathering focused on gaining guild/personal achievements - always a hilarious evening)
Sunday evening - LFR night (new for MOP, we jump into LFR as a guild and "experience" the "delights" of the randoms who we have been grouped with).
Other games are played on a rather adhoc basis (often during WoWs less busy periods), however feel free to suggest a new game to other community members you never know just how well it will take off!
Thanks for reading - hope to see your application @ intrepidsociety.com

Our achievement nights have had a massive turnout with our first Lich King 25 heroic kill followed by some MoP heroics to get us all ready for raiding.
Our second night was our members choice, dragon runs. Onxyia, Malygos, and Sartharion all fell before our might! We then decided to pay Halion 25 heroic a visit, this was also a success. Our last event of the night took us to the cold wastes of Icecrown to face off against everything the Crusaders Coliseum had to offer. This resulted in HC Trial of the Grand Crusader being cleared in a little under 45 mins!
Last night we also ran through Ulduar 10 and completed almost every achievement in there.
In raiding we are up to Elegon in normal mode and have been jumping into LFR as much as possible, for a casual raiding guild we are very happy with this.
We are looking to add to our ranks, if you are casual, levelling, looking to raid or wanting achievements we look forward to your application at

Gratz to Mínx on getting the Pandaren Ambassador achievement which allowed Intrepid Society to gain Pandaren Embassy. That puts Mínx on 16145 and the Guild on 2025 (80% complete). Achievement night this Saturday, check us out at

Achievement night was awesome, the guild voted on 10 man heroic Bastion of Twilight. First two bosses went down first time, the Council proved tricky but we got through and then Cho'gall was nuked down first time, saving Sinestra for the start of next week. Fancy joining in then check out
