Monks broken in profiler
Return to board index

I haven't seen any topics on this specifically, so I thought I would bring this to attention and ask for some sort of ETA.
Pandas don't seem to show correctly in the character sheet for the profiler, but Monk profiles simply don't load. Firefox, Chrome (both latest versions, no adblock) both bring up "Warning: your changes haven't been saved!" with empty profiler pages on Monk characters.

The blood elf model shows on my friend's monk, but the rest of the page is empty. My monk, being a panda, doesn't even show in the model area.
It's been almost a month since the launch of Pandaria, and goodness knows that the beta was up for the better part of a year... so I have to ask, when is this going to get sorted out?

The Profiler still needs a lot of updates to be fully compliant with the massive changes of the new expansion. This means that it will likely work perfectly well for someone playing a human at level 54 but will be rather less useful for someone playing a monk or other class character over 85.
There's no announcement yet on when the Profiler will receive an update but please accept our heartfelt apologies for the inconvenience. With so much to do the Profiler has had to take a place on the back-burner.

It seems like the profiler has been broken for a while now. The profiler shows that you're missing a head enchant (no longer available), the mount and companions windows don't show any data, the recipes and quests tabs don't have any of the new MoP items, and the reputation tab shows some of the new reputations (not all) and doesn't have them categorized correctly.
When will this be addressed?
It's not on our priority list right now, unfortunately. There are some great alternatives for the profiler though and when we do eventually get time, we will look at it. However, it has always been something less than .1% of our site uses, and we are busier doing data fixes since 5.1 reared its head so early :)(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##Ashelia##DELIM##

As profiler is broken, you might want to try
MaxDPS
to look for potential gear upgrades. Not quite as user friendly as wowhead, but will do in the meantime.
Alternatively,
rawr
is working partially for
some classes
, but not monks, priests, rogues, warriors or warlocks (they need c++ devs to help out).

Hey blue n' greens,
Thanks for the reply.
I can understand that a lot of WoWhead users probably use quest information and item details more than the profiler, but since the profiler is one of the main functions I enjoy, sometimes it's difficult to grasp resource allocation until the officials step up and say things.
I really enjoy the WoWhead News area, by the by, so I still visit regularly for that.
Not that I expect WoWhead to fully tip its hand, but is there any place users can get site update news? I know hard ETAs just create hard deadlines which stress people out, but if we users could get a glimpse of "the big picture" of what is being worked on.. It'd be nice :) You know "We're busy processing and parsing 5.1 PTR data and expect to be done by Jan, then we've got 'project X' lined up for a March release.."
Not everyone cares about seeing that on the WoWhead News feed per say, but it seems like there's no public facing 'internal news' page that I can find.

I don't know of any site that lets you view a 3d model with the gear you want to wear on it. This is the best tool I know of on any site for Xmog. Matter of fact I don't know of any other site that has 3d models that you can see what you would look like in your perfered gear.

You don't need the Profiler to be working to do this. The Comparison Tool can also do this for you.

Dear Ashelia,
Would you please recommend one or more of these alternatives to Wowhead Profiler you would be referring to ? Many thanks in advance !

The site is currently developing a complete replacement for the Profiler so this thread is outdated.
