There really isnt a need for switching to Tenacity anymore . Ferocity with growl on and a misdirect is all you need and things go down quicker that way as well .
Only time i have growl off is in dungeons/raids . Rest of teh time pet takes all the agro

Tenacity is needed if you attempting to solo some hard content or a lot of mobs (they hurt).
Feel free to use the commands from these macros separetly.
Some people use the growl command automated like that:
/petautocastoff growl
(or /petautocaston growl)
macroed to something used once in while, i got it macroed to my focus misdirect macro, as only reason for me to have focus is being in a group with tank i want to md to.
#showtooltip misdirection
/petautocaston growl
/focus
/petautocastoff Growl
/cast
I actually just combined two of my macros here so if it doesnt work tell me, ill just post both.

.
Not really mate - if you are doing that kind of thing then glyphed misdirect works better than thunderstomp at kepping aggro on pet and glyphed pet mend plus some of our tallents keeps it alive.
Swapping out glyphs and tallents to sute fight is so easy now
Edit : this is for those above the misidrect level , under that then you probably would want a tenacity pet

Zakkhar is correct, Tenacity isn't for the aggro, its for the survivability. Healing recieved +40% for one.
