Hey, I have just purchased the battlechest and am so far loving WOW.
I am playing as a Night Elf Subtlety Rogue currently Lv14.
I have read that I can use a Bow and have purchased one, however am unable to use it. Do I still need to train to use this or should it be a skill already learnt by the race and class? If not is anyone able to help as to trainer?
The bow is equiped on my back however I am unable to find any arrows from any of the suppliers, I have also read that ammunition has been quashed with the new updates, so am puzzled as to what I am doing wrong.
Please help!
Thankyou.

You can use a bow, but you have to use the 'shoot' command. I forget which tab it's in, but it should be in your spellbook. Try your general tab (top most tab of the spellbook). If it's not there, look in your subtlety specialization tab. They should, for the most part, be alphabetically listed, but just look for that.
The problem, overall, that you're going to have as a rogue with a bow is that you'll be able to use "shoot" and only shoot. All of your other skills, look at the tooltips, will say "requires melee" or one or two special cases may say "requires thrown" but I doubt if you have any of the "requires thrown" that early. And with the change, I think most of those were changed, but still. Wielding a bow will do nothing good as a rogue. Get some daggers, since you're subtlety, and you'll notice significant improvement in your play.

Ammunition hasn't been required to use guns, bows or crossbows since WotLK I believe. I'm also pretty sure Rogues can no longer use bows, although the fact that you see it on your back is odd, although it's possible it just serves as a cosmetic stat stick.

Guys, really appreciate your feedback, may go with the daggers idea then and do away with the bow.
Played with a bow in Skyrim, so the change will be good!

only hunters will use ranged weapons in MoP.
however they didnt take a way the ability too wear bow/crossbow/gun from rogue's and warriors even though its nothing more then a cosmatic item when you decide too wear them. (other way around for hunters and melee weapons)
you should stay clear of them at all times, since you will be locked out of pretty much every ability a rogue got including thrown since it requires a melee weapon now.

Rogues and warriors cannot
use
ranged weapons (bows, guns, crossbows) anymore since 5.0, but they can still
equip
them, and due to another 5.0 change, the weapon will also display on their backs, just like hunters (who do not use melee weapons anymore)
But even when they could use ranged weapons, it was more of a rare-case thing, the damage was low, it was used mostly to draw the attention of/initiate combat with enemies that couldn't be reached on foot. After 5.0, there still is the
Throw
skill.
So, Pcdouguk, you're indeed better off with the daggers ;) If you do wish to play a class with ranged weapons someday, you can create a hunter character :)

Rogues can still equip ranged weapons as a concession to those rogues that got
legendary bows
back in the day. It would be fairly poor sport on Blizzard's part to suddenly take those away from people that want to show them off.
Rogue is a melee-only class now, period.

Throw
,
Deadly Throw
and
Shuriken Toss
disagree :P

Yeah but none of them need a throwing weapon anymore =P.

That just isn't represented properly by the game mechanics, you simply have a belt of neverending throwing daggers/shurikens ;)
