Goblin shamans...why?

Goblin shamans, while great in-game, don't fit into the lore too much...do they? I mean, they're obviously not very caring of their environment (Kezan may have been described as a "goblin paradise" in the intro cinematic, but that doesn't change the fact that a thick layer of smog covers the entire island)

While it's true that goblins are not... in tune with nature the way you expect shamans to be, the official explanation for shamanism among goblins is more centered around the spirits and the elements. As blizzard put it is has to do with the fact that goblins are natural bussinessmen. They view the elemental spirits as just another contract or customer or whatever and goblins just love to find someone who can barter with them at their level.
Initiate Goldmine is a good example of a typical goblin shaman if you ask me, as he cares not just about what you might find in nature, but also what you might create from it.
Hope that was undersandable.

They enslaved the trolls in the starting area, that's where they learned it.

Okay, that's a very good answer. Thanks!
