Hello everyone o/
I'm relatively new here, so I hope everything I'm doing is right, if not, please let me know what to do better next time ^^.
Alright, so basically, I am a paladin, and as DPS I use a 2 handed sword, but as healer a 1h and a shield.
How would I create a macro that does something like this:
if a one handed sword is equipped, /equip 2handed sword name, else equip 1handed sword and shield.
I know I can make two seperate macros, but that'd be needlessly filling up my bar if it can be done in one macro.
Thanks for anything that helps me progress :-)

It's just straight out:
/equip
/equip
/equip
If you already have a onehanded and shield equipped, then it switches them out to a 2h
Likewise if you already have the 2h equipped, it switches to 1h and shield.
However, I haven't found a way for your shield to get deposited elsewhere but the first open slot in your bags.

I'm not sure Aibu's macro would work as intended; without a check, it's just going to equip the 2H weapon and then re-equip the 1H/Shield I think?
I've used weapontypes as a conditional before, I don't have my macros handy but you should be able to do that still.
/equip {2H weapon}; {1H weapon}
/equip {shield}
I think this would allow for automation of the whole process; you may even be able to remove the check for the shield, as it won't equip if you have a 2H weapon anyway, but it would annoy me to have it throw up errors.
Outfitter does a better job of returning items to your bag in later open slots than the macro or the default gear switching methods, I use that for preference.

Oh, thanks Real ^^ I'm new to macros myself, and even tested the macro I wrote, as I wouldn't reply without it working for myself.

Ah, if you tested it then it could be that it's working due to fallthrough & latency; this isn't necessarily a bad thing but it's best not to rely on it as you can't be sure what the other player's network speed is going to be like, nor when Blizz is going to sort it out so that unintended (but useful) glitches like this are suddenly blocked.
