It seems to me and I could be wrong but this update is going make us of course like always stronger when we get some of the new gears and such. But my main question is actually how strong/weak are we going to be at 85 without counting the new gear just wearing our current gear and the new talents and skills and such?

Same as the people are right now in Beta when they make a premade level 85 who comes with full 378 gear; in other words, you'll have to get used to the new talents, glyphs and specs, but you will be as you are.
Edit: In other words, same as it was for the pre-expansion patches for BC, Wrath and Cata.

I don't recall an expansion patch ever being released after the expansion.
Sorry what I was meaning was I don't think I ever seen an expansion patch making the chars weak but always super OPED. I was wondering what it would feel like right when aug 28th hit and I said sept I mean aug :(

Seeing as our talents will be balanced around level 90 and we will all of course still be 85 my guess is we will feel kind of gimped.

this isn't necessarily true. on the pre-cataclysm patch for WOTLK, mages got so absurdly strong, blizz had to temporarily nerf most of the specs, just so other people could even look at mages in the eye without being melted away.
As you said, this pre-MoP patch will be balanced around level 90, with level 90 gear. At lvl 85 it WONT be balanced, and some classes will simply smoke others. I smell temporal nerfs till the expansion goes live.

It is very doubtful any DPS class will feel weaker.
I think the real problem will be tanks and their squishiness. A whole lot of what happened passively now requires us to time and push a button. In the case of bears, we are losing our crit-shield (basically passive), and instead have to concentrate on building up rage and pushing a button when we hit 60 rage to gain 45% dodge. Go without that dodge for more than a few extra seconds and your health drops like a rock. Since you no longer gain rage from getting it, it means you have to focus on getting your mangles on target.. or alse you will just see your rage stay buried.
I can see why the devs want to do this ( it is much more active).. I personally disagree with it. I enjoy position, long cds and interrupts as my ´active mitigation´... and will hate being so glued to a rage bar... but in any event.. the first few weeks of 5.0... expect to see a lot of tanks getting beat down very fast for not keeping up with their new mandatory ´every 8 seconds´ button.

And with there being no "normal" dungeons as you level
, tanks will have to re-learn how to tank - and learn the new encounters - on the fly - in max level heroics.
Blizz better pray that they didn't undertune the tanks on top of it all or it may be the last straw for what few tanks are left out there.
where the hell did you read that?
For one thing, all the dungeons from level 15 to 85 have normal modes, and secondly, several of the MoP dungeons also have normal modes. They just said there wont be LEVEL 90 NORMAL DUNGEONS.
but there will be level 86-89 normal dungeons.
List of Normal MoP dungeons: Jade Temple, the Stormstout brewery, The Shado-pan Monastery, and the Mogu'shan Palace.
List of Heroic-only MoP dungeons: Gate of the setting sun, Siege of Niuzao Temple, Scarlet Monastery, Scarlet Halls, and Scholomance.
Any other dungeon added in subsequent patches (5.1 and onwards) will all be heroic-only.
As you can see, having 4 reg dungeons to practice is good enough. Plus if you actually get to 85 and don't know yet how to tank (even the bare basics) there's something wrong with you. There's plenty of Normal and Heroic dungeons you can do before getting to MoP content. All the way from level 15 to 85.

MoP is going to be so different from prior expansions. a LOT of players are testing the beta. LFR is gearing players way better than in the past. we are getting a whole new talent system and glyphs are also being re-worked. the only thing I see staying the same are class roles being tuned for max level. so lvl 85 will be trivial just like 60, 70 and 80.
