Great idea! My main is a hunter and I love this! I mean I was a little concerned when they said no more melee weapons because then we would lose all the stats we got from them (All the extra Agility, Crit, Hit, Haste etc... on them plus the enchants). I think this would be an awesome way to even it out :)

With the removal of melee weapons on hunters come MoP, wouldn't it be nice to have quivers/ammo pouches & arrows/bullets back in the game? Now, I know it is

to have it like before, but I was thinking it would be nice in a different mechanic:
Hunters could start out with 3 slots for weapons in their character pane (
like the rest of us
), but instead of having a Main Hand, Offhand, Ranged slots - hunters get Ranged, Quiver, Ammunition slots. Instead of Quivers used to having its own slots (and function as a container), it now grants stats and etc, Ammunition, instead of stacking and using one per shot, now functions as a shot modifier (added elemental damage, with minor stats.
I personally would like to have quivers back, its only logical to have a quiver when you have a bow/crossbow, not to mention it would be totally sweet if they could add an animation to reload/clean a gun while off-combat and/or idle
So essentially Quivers a la Diablo 3?

Wel, first off, lets scrap teh ammo - especially as that would lead to hunters being 3 weapon slots, and everyone else 2 slots (the ranged and relic slits are going away, and ranged weapons will essentially be considered 2 handed weapons)
I don't dislike the idea - we already have ranged weapons as a hunter only thing in the new system, and adding quivers could make the upgrading of weapon slots a bit smoother and more interesting, however, the major downside is that they need to add quiver drops in to the game, and it would be a second hunter only item.
This would lead to either 1 choice for each per tier (or no choice at all) and a doubled chance of getting screwed by RNG for drops, or it would lead to multiple choices and lots of wasted drops after the hunter(s) have gotten their stuff of choice (granted this is already the case with ranged, but would be for 2 items) leading to general annoyance at the loot tables.
I like the idea, but unless some other class was tacked on to ranged or quivers I don't see it being a good idea due to the loot issues arising.
The possible downasied of making ranged essentially one-handers would be dualwielding - (ranged could be prevented by making them MH rather than 1H) Imaging a ranged/top-of-the-line agi 1H/OH - of course, dualwielding could just go the way of the dodo (if it isn't already, I have to admit I haven't checked), and making quivers off-hands.
Could even make a "DW" vs 2H case of it with gun(MH)+ammo pouch(OH) versus bows (2H) for instance.

If I remember correctly, we'll be getting our quiver graphic back, but not the physical items themselves.
I wouldn't mind seeing them re-implemented like they are in Diablo 3, but I'm sure the other classes would QQ it into oblivion if Blizzard actually tried to implement them.

I owuldn't support a quest to get it, becaus eall that would amount to was a class-quest that wasn't optional in any way, and you would have to do it before you were actually ready to do anything.
In regards to ranged weapons for rogues and warriors, they are gone (or was last time I checked, I don't have either on the beta), as well as the relic slot for paladin, DK, druid and shaman (the shaman slot is relic on live - previously totem, right?) and the ranged slot for mage, priset, warlock is gone, while wands are still in, but you have to equip it as a normal weapon - same as ranged weapons for hunters will be normal weapons.

So... just read everything there is to know about MoP & Hunters til present - yeah, I'm gonna wait a patch, or two, or three to even consider coming back =/
What has that got to do with this topic? (or indeed any topic in the hunter forum?)

Why do people always think that the removal of melee weapons = us getting less stats? When they remove the "statstick", they'll stick more stats on bows/xbows/guns >.<
