Hey guys, I was wondering what you think of this - Any helpful comments would be great!
I recently stumbled upon an internship that this really popular magazine is promoting. I love writing and this would be a great foot in the door for me. I currently work at a job that I don't love. (It's one of those - - it's just a job and it has nothing to do with writing) This internship is (I'm 95% certain) unpaid and I don't even know if they would offer me a job at the end of it, but it would be great experience! My husband makes a fantastic income so I don't think money would be an issue. What do you guys think? Should I at least apply and see what happens? I think this internship is geared more for current college students but I graduated last year with a degree in English.

Well, it seems like you want to do it, so yes. Go for it. Even if it's unpaid and there's no guarantee of a job at the end, it's experience in the profession.

I would say that the most important step would be to talk it over with your husband first. Even though you say he has the fantastic income that could support you, there is a different between financial support, and the toll of emotional support that goes with it.
He he supports you, I would go for it. Getting experience is a really important thing these days, and if it works out well, it will never be a bad thing on your resume. It also sounds that you are kinda excited about the prospect of doing it. That in itself indicates to me that it would be a good choice. As you said, the company might be looking for fresh grads, but keep your expectations level, and go for it!
Let us know what you deiced, and how it turns out!
Cheers,
Hat

Don't you have to be a current college student to qualify for an internship?
