What to do in Atlanta in the evening?

So as some people may have noticed in the RB, I'm going to be heading to the US in a couple of weeks, and a portion of that time (Weds-Fri nights) I'm going to have free in Atlanta.
The problem is, I'm struggling to find good things to do in the evenings - World of Coke is something I'll probably get to on the Friday evening, but most days I'll be finishing up work at around 5:30pm, so it limits what I can actually get out and do.
Does anybody have any suggestions of places to go, things to check out, locations with good photography points, etc.? Or
places to eat
?
Edit: On a side note, I'm also going to be in New York on Sunday 6th and the Monday 7th evening before heading to Atlanta on the 8th, if anyone is around / can make suggestions of things to do / things not to do :P(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##Squishalot##DELIM##

If you ever get fast food while you're there, get Popeyes. They probably have them that far out. I'm sure they're better around here but Popeyes is Popeyes.

What sort of fast food is Popeyes?
Hoping for better food than just fast food though - work is paying for meals :P

Don't walk around zombies with a horse, that's all I know.
And don't shoot a gun in a tank either. This only applies to Atlanta.

Definitely GO to Times Square, just don't EAT in Times Square. Everything is stupidly overpriced, even if the food is mostly adequate. Although, since you said work is footing the bill, ESPN Zone might be worth it, IF you're a sports junkie.
I posted up
Menchanko Tei
in your 'Where To Eat' thread a couple weeks back, definitely worth it, I can't recommend that place enough.
MoMA
has some excellent exhibits up now, as does the
American Museum of Natural History
.
Pen-and-Paper Gamer? Go hit
The Compleat Strategist
, unless you're claustrophobic. ;)
Jim Hanley's Universe
is a great spot for your all-around geeking out. Comics, collectibles, the works.
Have fun. It's a hell of a town.
Be prepared for awful weather in NY area. I am in upstate (4 hours away from NYC) and it was in 80s on Friday. Now, there is at least inch of snow on the ground.
It'll be rainy, that's about it. Mid-50s. Dress for rain, have an umbrella handy, you'll be fine.
Hey, question for the Atlanta folks. Is the giant chicken still there? I remember hitting Dragon*Con back in I think 2000, or maybe '99, and I remember a giant chicken. It was for a local restaurant.

If it's foggy or rainy go up the Empire State. No queues and the weather usually clears enough to get some great shots/views.
